What’s the drama in your local FB site?

Mine’s is that somebody hung their washing in front of their neighbour’s window (colony flats), neighbour went into the garden and pushed it to the corner of the line and left a (unnecessarily) curt note, and now the whole thing is being played out via our local share site.
I am now over invested in this dispute between two people I will never meet, over a problem of vanishing significance.

That sounds scary......how does the medium communicate with the dog? Does the dog need to be dead?

All my local pages from FB to Next Door are full of people against/for the 20mph speed law in Wales.

ULEZ. There’s a ULEZ van on X street, another ULEZ camera is up… how should be smash it down… every now and the A Covid or brexit type post. Yawn.

Utter outrage because the traffic light sequence was altered after 3 weeks of roadworks to fill in the potholes that was last month's rant.

Ulez. People being encouraged to vandalise the cameras.

Ooh me too, sounds like it might be the same one! It makes me really sad how angry people are about it. I can see the arguments for both sides but those against it are v vocal and a bit scary. Also I am a cycle commuter and the amount of people who are driving really aggressively or yelling stuff at me just for daring to ride a bike has increased. I’m not impressed 😕

I can see both sides too (though my road is lovely and quiet now!) but I just don't understand the hatred for cyclists. Unless you really are all in a secret cabal plotting to destroy all motorists.

@ImNotReallySpartacus the medium can only communicate with the dog if it's alive apparently and she's drawn a map as to where he is but now sharing updates privately with the family.

It's a bit surreal. It's almost like the drive to find a missing child. I'm taking 80-90 people out trying to find this dog in the local area, posting videos etc.

Someone posted about an XL bully running loose. I suggested calling the police as they can be dangerous. 50 knuckle draggers kicked off at me and called me all kinds of names. It's the owners not the breed don't you know 🙄

We must be in the same town 😂 along with the dog poo and kids needing a youth club

A bmw without a disabled badge parking over two disabled spaces and someone not being paid for a trial shift at a local bar.

Same to the ones about 20mph limit, we’re in Wales

It’s slow and annoying, BUT we live on a main road and I can see how this will help with emissions and safety etc. so I’m all for it in that respect

These very same people refusing to go 20, signing petitions, lobbying the councillors etc are actually then having the audacity to be on the local pages saying “these boy racers bombing down my road hitting wing mirrors off, SLOW DOWN, think of the children” Etc. 😂 They genuinely don’t see the irony

Lots of thieving ratbags nicking parcels from doorsteps and prowling around properties at night looking for things to pinch.

An empty shop is going to be a chain bakery....you wouldn't believe the fuss people could make about that 🙄

Swimming pool under threat of closure.

Ours is quite sad.

Local business man bought a site in the town on the edge of the park to redevelop it. There's loads of trees between the park and the site, so some belong to the park, some belong to the site.

Red squirrels are in the park. Planning permission has been given to cut these down and build massive houses that aren't really needed because there's been two other developments in the area recently and they still can't sell all the houses on those plots.

Hundreds of people wrote in objections. The local councillors objected. It went through the committee and was passed anyway. Businessman had a survey done on the site that concluded there weren't any squirrels but it was done at a time of year when they are not that active and the hundreds of accounts from people (including me) who have seen them there disagree.

Lots of anger on the group, plus some conspiracy theories about money passing hands etc.

Generally I hate NIMBYism but not in this case.

Several home bakers charging over the odds for muffins/brownies/cheesecake, often with a Bueno or Lotus biscuit plonked on.
Rival pubs that think they’re high end restaurants with increasingly lavish announcements on an hourly basis. Pub a has a bottomless brunch so pub b announces an afternoon tea deal five minutes later. Pub a is having a Indian evening so pub b promotes a street food week. That sort of thing.

Asylum seekers being housed in a local hotel. Some appalling conversations, even people saying they'll burn it down. This is in a supposedly "naice" middle class town. As local government workers we have been told not to wear our ID badges walking around town as these anti-refugee dicks are looking for anyone to take their anger out on.
It's been rolling on for two weeks nearly and every time the "outrage" dies down someone stokes it up again by posting something like "Who's up for a protest outside the hotel" or "I know, why don't all you wokes take them into your houses" then it all starts again.

Prior to this it was potholes and complaining about the lack of "policemen" (these FB Jonnys would never be woke enough to say police officer).
