MrsHinch and Stacey Solomon

can’t get enough of them and I’ve saved a small fortune using their discount codes on things I never would have purchased as I didn’t really need them

KittensandPerverts · 25/09/2023 18:52

Anyone who logs on to see what the gormless SS is up to wants their bumps feeling, quite frankly.

avocadotofu · 25/09/2023 18:52

None. What an odd question.

There you go, MN.

Is that what you were looking for?

Grin

I can only imagine that was tongue in cheek @JaneJeffer

friedgoldeggs · 25/09/2023 18:55

Honestly they all paint such an unrealistic picture of parenting. I'm prime demographic for these influencers and truthfully I've stopped following most of them as it's so depressing seeing these millionaires being gifted things they could easily afford themselves. Especially the house Reno accounts - we've been waiting for years for the council to adapt our home for our severely dished DD and I'm so worried about the extra costs. Then you get so and so getting free kitchens and whatnot purely because they have 100k followers.

Also.... Everything is beige or pastel or greige and it's so boring. Where's the chaos, the colour, where's the realness?

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 25/09/2023 18:55

Grin Yep. What everyone else said!

marshmallowfinder · 25/09/2023 18:56

What a stupid question. It's all so fake. Even the name 'influencer' is nausea inducing. Genuine, honest, normal people are who I respect and pay attention to.

PollyAmour · 25/09/2023 18:56

Stacey Solomon is the worst of the lot. She's an insta beggar who can easily afford the free holidays she's been gifted, 3 this year so far.

squareyedannie · 25/09/2023 18:57

What's a parenting space?

gogomoto · 25/09/2023 18:59

Actually I do follow one person on YouTube but she doesn't have kids, she does have a very nice motorcycle though Grin. Nobody wants to watch people trying to be perfect parents

Jitterybugs · 25/09/2023 19:06

My Mum was my go to influencer on parenting matters. She didn’t live long enough to hear about influencers and their followers. But if she did I’m confident she’d say wtf is wrong with folk these days 😃

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 25/09/2023 19:06

Oh no!!!

Mumsnet is SO going to go down this route!!

There will soon be mumsnet endorsed influencers!

It's embarrassing

ThePurpleOctopus · 25/09/2023 19:06

The above is funny and true to an extent, but yes, honestly, there are people I follow on Instagram and I do reflect on things they say.

So, maybe it's just me, but....

mother_pukka
scummymummies
fiveminutemum
kicks.count
lazyweaner
baby led weaning cookbook
couples.counseling.for.parents
biglittlefeelings

(Though if they start showing their children I tend to unfollow. At least one above is doing this so I'll likely unfollow soon)

Oh yes biglittlefeelings. I stopped following them a while back as it got quite repetitive but I did find them a very useful resource first time with a toddler.

Also forgot o follow a couple of weaning accounts: solidstars, feedinglittles and _myfirstmeals.

Also sick.happens is useful.

And thedairyfreemum (it’s the best dairy free account I’ve found; she shows lots of DF products which is helpful).

So apparently I do follow a few more than I thought!

PhilMitchellsleatherbomber · 25/09/2023 19:21

If mumsnet is going down the route of endorsing ‘influencers’ for either parenting, fashion, or whatever then I think I would have to reevaluate if I stay on here, I thought this place was better than that, mumsnet endorsing ‘influencers’ so they can sell cheap tat and get free stuff, what a disgrace.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/09/2023 19:22

I’m supposed to have go-to influencers?!

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/09/2023 19:23

This should be flagged as "Promoted By Mumsnet" and should also include the word "parenting" in the thread title.

Surely ???

SkinnyMalinkyLankyLegs · 25/09/2023 19:24

I don't know exactly what a parenting influencer is but I do follow accounts about people who give tips etc on speech and language therapy for children, as this is an issue currently for my little one.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/09/2023 19:25

ThornInMySide84 · 25/09/2023 17:38

None, because I’m not 12.

First comment nailed it 👌

LongBoi · 25/09/2023 19:26

The only person ever to go on a parenting journey was the Virgin Mary. #donkey #mysonisliterallyJesus #AirBnbFail

Given that half the Active Threads are ‘promoted by Mumsnet’, clearly this place is turning into dull revenue-generating machine.

I never click on the ‘promoted by MN’ threads. Why click on an ad…..?

But presumably other people do, as they continue to come thick and fast….

Tedious.

JaneJeffer · 25/09/2023 19:36

Has anyone dared to mention Gina Ford yet?

EggAndSpooning · 25/09/2023 19:37

Katy Kicker, Taming Twins. Queen of Clean. Love them all
