I've a dog . I love him dearly . But my cos they're disgusting creatures at times

I've just gone downstairs to the faint smell of dog poo

Searched for the offending smell, (he has been out btw )

Found a small stain on the carpet which is luckily very easy to clean as anti stain carpet but - this means he has shat on the floor and unless he went and got a doggy bag , picked it up and put it in the bin ......it means he ate it . 🤢

He's acting like nothing happened. I've had to steam the carpet with dettol.

Why are animals such , animals !

They are disgusting beasts at times. We got our puppy when DD was potty training, there were... incidents. There's a good reason we don't let the dog lick us 😂

FOJN · 17/09/2023 20:55

I'm so relieved your dog ate his poo. Your thread title hinted at something even more unsavoury!

My disgusting hound eats his own vomit if I can't get to him in time to stop him.

Oh how disappointing, I was going to recount a few incidents from my clubbing days!

When my mare is in season, she backs up to male horses (not stallions, these are geldings (castrated males), spreads her legs, lifts her tail, and squirts.
She’s such a tart.

Missingmyusername · 17/09/2023 20:58

Unusual for dogs to eat their own poo? at least I hope so. (Im ok to live in ignorance by the way).

Did he perhaps just have a clinker? Not quite a clean butt? Have a scoot? All slightly more palatable…. 🤣

I've just realised how ambiguous my title is 😂

I am going to lift the tone just slightly and tell you how my 5mo kitten ate a bit of leftover pizza tonight and left the rest of the
slice upside down on the kitchen floor. I still feel a bit guilty tbh, it can’t have been good for her.

IHeartGeneHunt · 17/09/2023 21:05

My Jack Russell is a disgrace.
She once ate 6 freshly cooked chickens hearts while they were too hot, threw them up, and ate them again in the time it took me to go and get a cloth.
She ate half a magpie and threw the beak up in my bed.
She rolls in slugs.
She eats bird poo.
She fetches dead worms into the house and hides them to eat later.
She licked a toad.
I had to pull a snail out of her mouth.
She farts really badly and then leaves the room.
She ate a discarded chicken salad including the plastic box before I could stop her.
She tried to hide a dead hedgehog for later.

My DD puked up a load of roast potatoes. I nipped to get my cleaning stuff, came back & it’s all gone & my dog was licking his lips, just looking at me🤣

That is revolting and I can't understand why anyone would want such a vile creature in their home.

I don't get dog ownership in general. They're disgusting

aduckinarow · 17/09/2023 21:10

goodornot it's meant to be lighthearted

Dogs are fabulous honest !

I'd be very lonely without mine . He's just disgusting at times .

My DB's late DDog used to snack on cowpats on country walks.

SausageinaBun · 17/09/2023 21:12

I really envied dog owners when my kids were small - they seem to eat all sorts of kid related mess, from the dropped bits, to the really revolting.

I gave one of my guinea pigs a hair trim this evening as they tend to get dirty hair round their butts. Then, while I was cleaning their enclosure out, one of the others ate a decent amount of the dirty butt hair clippings.

Lonecatwithkitten · 17/09/2023 21:13

My 13 year old make neutered cockapoo has groomed my 2.5 year old male neutered standard poodle to performed sexual acts on him. Mostly in the living room when there is an audience.

Sgtmajormummy · 17/09/2023 21:14

So it was probably a slug mine was rolling in tonight in the two minutes I let him off the lead in the garden!
He doesn’t smell of anything nasty so I suppose it’s better than fox poo, which was irresistible to my first dog.

Rolypoly2961 · 17/09/2023 21:14

Ddog will clear the cat litter tray if he gets the chance 🤢

I regularly dog sit for 2 different dogs. They are both easy and very sociable. Sometimes I stay in their house, sometimes they stay in mine. Both trained and neutered. So it was a no brainer when I had to option of having both. It was a 2 week orgy! They never ever ever had shown any interest in humping but after the first afternoon they took turns. And got quite sweaty with it! I felt really embarrassed explaining to their family’s. Especially since they’ve still never humped anything else so at best it looks like I made up a mad dog orgy.

thistimelastweek · 17/09/2023 21:24

Mine eats spiders.
But I'm guessing spiders taste nasty cos I regularly come across spat out spiders. (They must taste goddam awful cos this dog eats anything. )
Just leave the spiders alone!

Plump82 · 17/09/2023 21:29

I have 2 cats. One is a bit of a puker. By the I get stuff to clean it up, the other one usually manages to eat it. 🤢

team america vomit GIF

Our Ddog used to like finding and biting those huge orange slugs.

They'd get stuck between his teeth so I'd have to get it out of his mouth with kitchen towel

Stomacharmeleon · 17/09/2023 21:37

My adorable pug regularly needs her anal glands doing as she generally whiffs like billingsgate fish market. Regardless of how often I get her 'done' she still squirts grot over the sofa which reeks of kipper until I locate it :(

She is grim but I love her!

Mydogisagentleman · 17/09/2023 21:37

Mine eats any poo he happens upon. Generally rabbits or duck.
He loves to roll in it, fox, horse, cow. He surpassed himself when he found juman. Someone had obviously been caught short on a walk through the woods.
Worst ever rolling incident was a long dead seal
