I’m in the free speech movement and I don’t know single person in it like you describe. The people campaigning for free speech actually hold it as an important principle that is necessary to underpin a democratic society, as free speech allows us to debate which allows us to distinguish good ideas from bad. Which is the very opposite of the slur you have thrown out there. .

Pharmaceutical companies do actually have to make profit to support future research - so it’s probably quite a good thing that they thrive. There is far more transparency, regulations, consensus, lack of bias etc out there than say - 10, 20 years ago.

However a narcissistic, uneducated, politically dubious person like him persuading others to follow him down his rabbit hole - well he can do that if he likes? He’s got his little YouTube free speech platform? What can’t Dispatches exercise their right to free speech too?

there's an incredible amount of money to be made from having a Youtube channel with several million followers. All he has to do is sit in his shed recording his ramblings and watch the money roll in. Plus he has lots of adoring followers to fluff up his cult leader like ego.

I imagine they are trying to silence and alienate him because his views are challenging to the government and he has a lot of followers. Call me cynical but it would hardly be the first time.

well said - I recall at the time of all the saville fallout, but in a "case" not involving that odious creature, some woman unearthed some story about her sexual experience with some minor star of the time. Can't remember who. The apparent victim said something like "I'd never have done anything with him if he was just anyone" (I seem to recall he wouldn't be considered great looking) - this was referred to by the apparent victim and some of the supporters as "using his celebrity".

I just saw his deny, deny, deny video on Tiktok. And to be fair to him, I am leaning towards believing him - but of course will wait to see any evidence.

Given his followers will believe any bullshit the he spouts I somehow doubt they are doing this to try to silence him. If anything it will enable him to make more millions from the you tube or other channels that he grifts from as he followers will believe it is all part of a conspiracy as demonstrated by your post.

He just wasn’t that well received. He got a push in the US after Forgetting Sarah Marshall and his marriage to Katy Perry, but he flopped. The movies he was lead on were box office disappointments, his talk show was cancelled and his TV show pilot was rejected.

His arrogance is astounding. He tells investigative journalists that they can use material from his book or stand up shows, but objects to anything else. What does he think investigative journalists do?

He's actually making millions from conspiracy videos and if anything this could add to his income so no wonder he's not too worried.

I am always a bit skeptical when criminal allegations are published by mainstream media instead of reporting to the police.

There is a possibility that it’s the latest in a long conflict he has had with mainstream media over his criticism of their often biased and foreign-controlled reporting of events (have a look at who owns and directs our newspapers, it might surprise you).

Im completely not certain and will see how this plays out in the justice system. If the allegations are untrue, then he should file for defamation.
