Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

If it's the culmination of three years joint work, by two renowned investigative teams; if it merits a 90 minute special programme plus Sunday papers lead; if it's all hands, no leave; then it's going to be something substantial, not yet another celebrity sleaze fest which the tabloids cover day in day out anyway.

The mirror silhouette is a strange one isn’t it although it’s labelled as general stock image. A balding man. They used the same image to report on a case of a paedophile in his thirties who’d been granted lifelong anonymity in Ireland after threatening to kill himself.
