Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

The hype is too great now. Even if Prince William has been bumming Russell brand in the House of Commons whilst Hugh bonneville watches and posts it on pornhub I’m gonna be disappointed

seriously though, I can’t see a 90 minute dispatches special being about just someone getting caught with their pants down or even allegations of sexual harassment/ grooming by an individual. I mean loads of footballers have been arrested for rape and they didn’t make documentaries about them. Either it’s super bad ( child sex ring featuring celebs) or it’s more of a political thing ( Boris and the Russians/ Chinese/ insert other political baddie here).

Maybe I’m just a cynical bitch but I can’t see the story “slimy, creepy seeming comedians were letching at women and some people covered it up” being that much of a shocker to be honest.

Well given how it's been all over MN for years and within industry circles for years about certain comedians, I think it's going to be something of an anticlimax for regular MNetters who will say 'we've know about this for YEARS'.

Why does it have to reach this level before this shit goes 'legitimate'?

I said before that I really couldn't care less what celebrities and comedians get up to. If it's illegal let the law deal with them.

However I care very much what people in power - politicians, royalty, and in some cases, journalists, get up to. They make decisions on our behalf, decide how our money is spent, are supposed to keep us safe.

I hope this isn't a load of hype about celebrity nonsense.
