Who floats your boat?

I think Nathaniel Hawthorne (19th century American novelist) is a bit of a dish.

And if we’re going back even further, like a few millennia, then Alexander the Great gets my vote too 😆

This bloke took a selfie in 1839. Got a kind of Mr.Darcy vibe going on:

Ooh he looks like David Morrisey, lovely 😍

No! Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne in the Victoria TV series!

Agree! He played that role so well, reminds me to rewatch as was in a newborn blur the first time

Franklin D Roosevelt Jr every time

Ralph Lauren's AW23 catalogue about to drop.

fleur89 · 13/09/2023 20:37

Also agree with young Stalin, first time I'd seen a photo of him young!

Scruffington · 13/09/2023 20:38

Roger Casement

An amazing guy.

I liked the sound of John of Gaunt in Katherine.

I liked the sound of John of Gaunt in Katherine.

I probably should have mentioned him! 😆 He's definitely one of mine!

Bloody hell. Young Roosevelt looks like a male model! Surprised no one has said Nikola Tesla.

I did earlier :)

WetBandits · 13/09/2023 20:45

Young Stalin was an absolute sort. Just a shame about the Communist bit Grin

Laurence Olivier was gorgeous, too. And Jack Kerouac.

CharliesAngles · 13/09/2023 20:46

This pair were absolute stunners…

Probably not classed as historical, the the best looking man that's ever lived in my opinion

Oh absolutely! And a nice guy too, by all accounts 😍

Trouble is Stalin was very short!! I've always fancied Edward IV (though his painting isn't flattering!)

AlwaysGinPlease · 13/09/2023 20:55

Prince William of Gloucester 😍

Supercat100 · 13/09/2023 20:57

Joshua Chamberlain of the American Civil War fame. Worth a Google.

WetBandits · 13/09/2023 20:58

Ooh and I also think Princess Margaret was so beautiful. She had the loveliest eyes!

Atethehalloweenchocs · 13/09/2023 20:59

Julius Caeser. Well documented hottie.

WetBandits · 13/09/2023 21:02

Greetings, fellow teenage history geek 😄

LittleBoPeepHasLostHerShit · 13/09/2023 21:08

The young John Steinbeck was a bit of a looker. (Unfortunately he wasn't a very nice husband.)

cheapskatemum

I see your First World War poet, and raise you Rupert Brooke, with his foppish good looks...

I just saw the hair and eyes in the photo and I thought Hugh Grant.

If George Harrison qualifies as historical can I suggest a young Keith Richards?

IridescentShadow · 13/09/2023 21:11

Was coming on to say that!!
