Mumsnetters judging your life.

What would they think?
I currently live in a large 3 bedroom terraced with my husband and two children (boy & girl).
We have been married for approximately 20 years.
Both children have regular hobbies such as scouting and riding.
We have one car for the whole family.
We holiday abroad rarely but do usually manage a UK break once a year.
We both work full-time and the kids go to school in another county as it is much better than the local school.
How would I be judged by mumsnet standards?

Why would anyone judge any of that? If this is the sum of your lives (and I'm sure it's not!) then I judge you to be slightly mundane 😁

FUimananteater · 09/09/2023 19:29

I'm going to go with "meek"

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 09/09/2023 19:31

Based on your children riding I’d dismiss you as ‘horse people’.

Judgemental me
I bet you don't have regional accents.
What's wrong with the local school if you live in the local area?
Actual me
You seem lovely and normal

fairyfluf · 09/09/2023 19:35

Don't know - do you park badly?

determinedtomakethiswork · 09/09/2023 19:35

I would judge you for being worried about what people on here think!

WunWun · 09/09/2023 19:36

I bet you don't take film plastic for recycling

crostini · 09/09/2023 19:37

All sounds lovely and I'd be happy with that other than staying in the UK all the time. If I had to judge you, that's what id judge you about (very lightly) 😅

Thatsmorethanhalf · 09/09/2023 19:39

Nothing jumps out at me except well done for managing 20 years of marriage! (Not all MNers are judgemental btw)

PerspiringElizabeth · 09/09/2023 19:43

Wish everyone would live and let live man! ✌🏻☮️

ComeWineWithMeAgain · 09/09/2023 19:46

Some of these are interesting!
I have a very strong regional accent 😂
I don't think I will ever be described as 'meek' but am definitely a horsey person.
Not sure if I park badly- I don't think I do!
I would love more holidays abroad but due to said children's hobbies I can't afford them 😕
I am not particularly bothered what mn thinks about my life, I am just interested in how people would judge my lifestyle.
I sometimes spend ages wondering about posters based on a snapshot I read on here and I thought it would be interesting to see if people can form a close idea of me as a person based on my post.

I would judge you for over thinking that people should judge you and for caring what others think.

nobodysdaughternow · 09/09/2023 19:50

You are middle-of-the-road people, probably representative of a majority.

How did you get your kids to school in another County?

Summermeadowflowers · 09/09/2023 19:53

I pay the childcare fees

i sometimes dress my daughter in pink

I love baby classes

I did the NCT course and some of my closest friends are from it

My son used to bite.

All of which I’ve seen judged a lot on here!

I put it as my first choice. I had to appeal for my eldest to go (the local school is well known for being horrendous) but my youngest got straight in.
We are quite rural so there are not many schools to choose from and quite a few kids from my dc primary went to the out of county school.

I wouldn't judge you for any of that.

Chanhedforthis · 09/09/2023 20:03

In the nicest possible way, you're too boring to bother judging!

Missingmyusername · 09/09/2023 20:07

Pretty standard 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wouldn’t think anything particularly.

SisterMichaelsHabit · 09/09/2023 20:09

Then tell us something about your lifestyle that's not exactly the same as nearly every other middle class parent on MN!

FuckingHellAdele · 09/09/2023 20:09

There's not much to judge there really.

How are you at keeping your whites, white?

DarkWingDuck · 09/09/2023 20:10

I don’t think anyone would judge but I took your post as meaning what kind of family would people think you are given the information you have given.

I would think you sound mostly average in Mumsnet terms. Maybe more affluent than most because of the riding and the school in a different country, which I would assume is paid for privately (but of course don’t know that for sure).

SisterMichaelsHabit · 09/09/2023 20:11

Here, this is what we're missing:
"I leave my dishes all over the kitchen and never stack them or scrape them off, once a day I run the dishwasher but I don't empty it for hours. I use Zoflora to keep my astroturf shiny and a petrol mower for the field out back. My windows have grey plastic frames. There's a bespoke seasonal wreath on my front door. Beside my bed there's a beaker full of water that DH requires."

I would guess (please don't be offended if I'm wrong 🙈).

You co sleep with your baby?

You are a single parent?

You have lots of friends?

Newuser75 · 09/09/2023 20:14

@ComeWineWithMeAgain I'm not sure there is much to go on to be honest. Your lifestyle I would say is fairly typical . Id doesn't really let us know anything about you as a person.

See this is my point, absolutely definitely not affluent!!
@SisterMichaelsHabit I'm a bit of a clean freak so no dishes left overnight. Definitely no astro turf, natural grass all the way.
It is definitely interesting to see people's perceptions from my posts though.
