What would they think?
I currently live in a large 3 bedroom terraced with my husband and two children (boy & girl).
We have been married for approximately 20 years.
Both children have regular hobbies such as scouting and riding.
We have one car for the whole family.
We holiday abroad rarely but do usually manage a UK break once a year.
We both work full-time and the kids go to school in another county as it is much better than the local school.
How would I be judged by mumsnet standards?

Do you have a loo brush or not?
Do you put your handbag on the work surface?

Surely these are the real areas of judgment?!

I wonder be curious what your job is?

What's the issue with bags on work surfaces?

That all seems very beige and unremarkable, OP. Not much to judge! I’d think you were just a very average family.

I know I’d be judged for:

  • Metal and glass loo brush holders which are—horror—attached to the wall. We have German shelf toilets so the loo brushes are a bit of a necessity.
  • Driving an electric car whilst having more than two kids and taking long haul and skiing holidays every year — because you aren’t allowed to care about the environment in any way if you have kids and travel abroad for holidays
  • Family photos on the wall in the stairwell 😱
  • Owning multiple pets
  • Owning a new build. It was an architect-designed self-build, not from a developer and not on an estate, but new builds receive an incredible amount of scorn on here.
  • Chopping our tree and decorating the house the first weekend of December instead of on Christmas Eve.
  • Burning a seasonal candle in the autumn/winter
  • We are a shoes-off house (though never ask guests to remove shoes)
  • I almost always have a glass of wine whilst I’m cooking dinner

I'd think you were a masochist with a very hard shell to start this thread!

I am often told I have a thick skin😂

@Ladybug14 "although I did worry about the husband who hadn't come home the other day. Turned out he's a twat. What a waste of my time"
Tbh, you could have judged on first reading and moved on. They ALWAYS are....
