What age did you get your first couple of grey hairs and how long until lots?

I saw my first one on my 40th birthday, and now at 45 I seem to have two or three! I realise this is not bad at all in the scheme of things but as I have very dark hair naturally they are pretty obvious. So I am wondering what age others got their first few and how long until it was super obvious e.g you had to start dyeing or just accept it and be a grey goddess???

First.one was late teens.

Was dying my hair by mid 20s. Left it to grey at 31!
Now I am.as white as white!!!

I’m a couple of years younger and my roots grow in mostly grey nowadays. I think I got my first grey hairs in my early 30s or even late 20s so I think 40’s quite late to only have a few natural greys coming in!

I first started getting a few greys in my mid 30s, then late 30s they started to become noticeable and now I’m early 40s and I have grey ‘streaks’ , I’m embracing it because a) life is too short to care and b) ageing is a privilege.

late 20s and early 30s

39 first grey hair.

45 now, probably 10% grey. It doesn't bother me so much since turning 45 tbh...

I was dying it but can't be bothered at the moment so have a lot of roots showing.

First at 30. Mid 50s now and still only single ones, although more of them. No streaks yet (I'm dark haired too).

First at 23. Still only have a stripe at the front, approximately an inch wide and I'm 42.

I don't care though.

Found one in my mid twenties. Now in 50s and been dying hair for about 8 years. Never have grey roots though, so I'm guessing I'm not all over grey yet!

46 and have no grey hairs bar the odd one or two white strands that even kids get. My mum is 75 and has no grey hair. Just genetics. Also doesn’t matter.

36.. around the temples. Now multiplying fast!

About 18 for the first one, never dyed. Very grey by 40, and full silver by 50s.

34, the first week of lockdown, which I blame totally for it! Now I’m 37 and have quite a lot but my roots are not all grey by any means.

My DS is 17 and has a couple of grey hairs already

During lockdown when I was 33 and pregnant - totally blame those factors! I’m 36 now and have red brown hair with quite a few greys streaked through it. Don’t mind though and won’t be dying it.

I was 7 🫣 It was a one off tho. More appeared in my early teens. I’m mid-40s now and totally gray / white and I love it

I was 29, am now 49 and have grey streaks. I stopped dying my hair a few years ago and it turns out that my grey roots were exaggerating terribly!

Early 20s, not exactly sure when... maybe 23?

Im now 40, and I have a few more, particularly in my temple, but still not loads. But I now dye my hair blue, so notice them less, anyway.

I'm 61. I have one at the front that I yank out and one at the back that DH yanks out.

My first grey was when I was about 19 or so, I’ve noticed a couple more the last month-ish, I’m now 30.

First at 12.

Gave up dyeing at 38.

Now have tons at the front but my natural colour is still fairly dominant at the back.

My Nana was white by the time she was 40. My dad met my mum in his early 20s, very grey.

First greys around 30, got worse after 36 due to some stressful time. My mother was mostly grey by 25.

I was about 27-28 when I had my first greys, I’m not 35 and I woulf say I’m about 1:3 pgrey

Am mid fifties now and still far more dark than grey.
