My worst thing is tarragon. It ruins everything on the plate for me.

Sweetcorn.. The devil's vegetable.
Mustard any type... Devil's sauce bleurgh.

Seaswimmer23 · 09/09/2023 19:37

Raw red onion, ugh

metellaestinatrio · 09/09/2023 19:40

Goats cheese 🤮 . I can’t even bear the smell - it’s just like goat’s poo. And the taste infects the whole dish so it’s completely inedible.

Vitriolinsanity · 09/09/2023 19:43

Coriander. Evil weed.

crawfy86 · 09/09/2023 19:51

Coffee 🤢

largeprintagathachristie · 09/09/2023 19:56

Cloves
And any really smoky flavours

Freepo · 09/09/2023 19:59

Cardamom pods or other such stealth spices that are foul should you have the misfortune to bite into them

Musicalmistress · 09/09/2023 20:16

Coriander leaf 🤢
Absolutely fine with ground coriander but even the tiniest bit of fresh leaf/stalk ruins the entire dish for me.
And no, you can't just scrape it off and hope for the best (Wagamama and I'm looking at you!!)

Bobbybobbins · 09/09/2023 20:19

Mayo
Celery
Fresh coriander (used to love it!)

SperaT · 09/09/2023 21:59

So many people hate celery!

Garlic

iamwhatiam23 · 09/09/2023 22:39

Corriander is absolute filth, disgusting, vile stuff.

LordSalem · 10/09/2023 02:10

@TheWayofBeing It is enough food for me. When pregnant (11 years ago) I forced myself to eat three meals a day and drink a pint of milk, and took pregnacare. The excess food had me at the point of gagging, daily. All tests came back with great results, baby was overdue and still small.
I haven't eaten 3 meals a day beyond that since I was very little.
Does it really surprise you that someone can function without three meals a day? I just don’t need to eat more to function. I am short and maintain a healthy weight. Bit silly to say that other people's intake are suggestive of a problem. I could be anorexic if I was so inclined, in the same way that I could be obese. I’m neither. Perfectly functional and happy to point out that not every human needs the exact same.
Heaven forfend you might waste some calories typing out a refuting response.

BinkyBeaufort · 10/09/2023 17:51

Dill and peas. Otherwise I'll eat pretty much anything.

Tarkan · 10/09/2023 23:34

Nooo please don't use a dislike as an allergy I beg! It's phenomenally stressful as a chef dealing with allergies, I panic every time. If a chef wants you to enjoy the food then they should just leave stuff off that you can't stand. I do it without question. But if someone says 'allergic' I need to know to what extent & if I can safely do it that evening etc.

The original allergy comment was said to me but don't worry, I wouldn't do that. I have friends who have proper allergies and intolerances and they're nothing like my just plain hatred for mint. That's why I said I don't order lamb out now. I would rather just avoid something then cook it for myself if I wanted it than scare the hell out of the kitchen by claiming an allergy when I don't have one. It's a vastly different thing. The only thing I will ever mention to a kitchen is that I can't eat grapefruit because of medication I'm on for a heart condition. But at the same time I also tend to avoid citrus things if grapefruit could be a possibility on the plate. I'll eat almost anything so there's always plenty of choice on a menu for me.

FelicityFlops · 11/09/2023 04:20

Turkey, dreadful.
Chocolate, slimey and sticks to your whole mouth.

Mummumgem · 11/09/2023 05:06

Sweet corn on a roast dinner, and cauliflower cheese on a roast - both just wrong

mayonnaise, cloves, goats cheese

Caswallonthefox · 11/09/2023 16:16

I don't like cauliflower cheese, mainly because I threw up after eating some when I was a kid. I think it's mainly the cauli because I'll eat cheese sauce with other stuff.
Also won't touch leeks. My mother used to cook them and bung white sauce on top (bleurgh).

Claricestarling1 · 11/09/2023 16:47

Fennel or aniseed yuck

SperaT · 11/09/2023 22:14

I often wonder why restaurants and cafes like to sprinkle raw red onion on so many things.

So many people, including me, hate the stuff. I wonder if anyone actually likes it.

Goats cheese. Wrong. So wrong.

JanglingJack · 11/09/2023 22:16

Sweetcorn.

Who decided that every vegetarian loves sweetcorn on their pizza.

No

Rank.

HenryCavillsPerfectTeeth · 11/09/2023 22:24

Nuts, whole or chopped. Those square bits of potato ie like inside hash browns or pasties. Love potato but hate those kind.

MrsClatterbuck · 11/09/2023 22:33

Bay leaves. Can't abide the taste and why the current obsession with garnishing every meal with pea shoots. Drives me mad the only thing that doesn't get this treatment is a fry.
