My worst thing is tarragon. It ruins everything on the plate for me.

I share the dislike for Coriander, Goat's Cheese, Coconut, Pearl Barley.

But the thing I loathe above all else is Caraway. I can't even tolerate the smell.

MiniBossFromAus · 09/09/2023 11:02

Goats cheese - stinks exactly like goats ewwww

Cheap nasty mayo-FUCKING-naise on EVERYTHING - sushi, pizza, burgers, curry, salad.

🤢 🤕 🤮 🤢

Mummytotheboy · 09/09/2023 11:34

Coriander. Disgusting!

Augustus40 · 09/09/2023 12:20

Salad cream.

Imisssleep2 · 09/09/2023 12:30

Onion, crunchy onion, I am okay with it in a cottage pie of Bolognese if cut up small and soft though

annoyedofnorwich · 09/09/2023 14:01

Bell peppers. They taint the whole dish with a nasty bitter taste, even if removed. Red, orange, yellow, green, all horrible! Chilli peppers are fine!

annoyedofnorwich · 09/09/2023 14:04

Oh and like the above, gravy. The taste is no problem, I just don't get why you'd tip it all over perfectly nice food and turn it into brown sludgy goo that all tastes the same. Ruins a good roasty! As a dip, fair enough 😂

Butteredtoast55 · 09/09/2023 14:06

Garlic. It messes with me!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 09/09/2023 14:08

Lemongrass.

You might as well just add some fairy liquid to the good 😬

This 100%, for years I thought I disliked Thai food. Nope, I just don't like lemon grass.

Caerulea · 09/09/2023 14:59

Sage. It strongly tastes like green, powdery mold to me, I can't bear it in anything. Not even the smell.

Closely followed by peppers (standard capsicum) & they seem to be everything!

anormalperson · 09/09/2023 15:00

Peppers

@QuestionableMouse @Judgedbycats Hating corinader is a genetic thing, your genes actually make it taste like soap.

@Tarkan Agreed, why ruin lamb with mint, totally overpowers it.

Tell restaurants you are allergic.

Nooo please don't use a dislike as an allergy I beg! It's phenomenally stressful as a chef dealing with allergies, I panic every time. If a chef wants you to enjoy the food then they should just leave stuff off that you can't stand. I do it without question. But if someone says 'allergic' I need to know to what extent & if I can safely do it that evening etc.

Banana

1000% agree. Even the smell 🤢🤢🤢

Mugaloaf · 09/09/2023 16:22

@MyFetch I couldn't agree more about the raisins in savoury dishes.

With some undesirable foods I just go with the flow, but raisins/sultanas have to be picked out.

Crochetpenguin · 09/09/2023 16:24

Coleslaw, beetroot and olives.

Purpledaisies4 · 09/09/2023 16:40

I came on here to say tarragon too. I've had to get a second dish in a restaurant as I couldn't eat my original.

MyShmoo · 09/09/2023 17:45

Coriander
Lemon grass
Mince beef 🤢

MysteriousShopper · 09/09/2023 18:08

brown sauce.............it's one of the few things I will not eat.

Horrorqueen81 · 09/09/2023 19:02

Kale

Zingy123 · 09/09/2023 19:30

Cheese. It's revolting. When eating out it's so hard to find anything without cheese on. Even when they don't mention it on the menu. We ordered cottage pie and when it arrived it was covered in cheese 🤮.
