Do you leave soap, shampoo etc bottles out in your shower/bath?

Had a couple of bathroom fitters round today.
The wall is 1750 and baths are typically 1700, so would need a bit of filler at the end (the current bath, which has the shower over, is shorter and the filler is a tile width).
The fitter commented that normally he'd build the whole wall out to pack the gap rather than have a filled edge.
I said that I found the extra bit really useful for shampoo bottles etc and he said "I'm not allowed to leave them out in my house".
WTF???
Do you put your shower products away in a cupboard after you've used them?

Er, no.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 05/09/2023 21:55

I do but not loads.
try to keep it looking neat not with bits left in bottom of bottles like my dds seem to do.

PinkRoses1245 · 05/09/2023 21:55

Of course leave them out? Why would you waste your life getting them out every day

No. I have some corner shelves.

GoogleWhacked · 05/09/2023 21:56

Yes of course, why hide them?

devildeepbluesea · 05/09/2023 21:56

Of course I leave them out.

doroda · 05/09/2023 21:56

They're round the edge of the bath.

AvengedQuince · 05/09/2023 21:57

It's three bottles, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, they sit in the shower unobtrusively.

I'm glad it's not just me!

I don't actually use that bathroom, as I have an ensuite.
It's used by my kids (teens) and usually has 2 or 3 bottles and a bar of soap although ds2 has started using a shampoo bar recently.

I leave them out. Some people keep them in cupboards in a different room and take them out to use every day. That is a level of commitment to neatness that I cannot fathom.

Meredusoleil · 05/09/2023 21:58

Of course leave them out!

I love a little tiled ledge at the end of the bath. We had one in the house I grew up in.

cocksstrideintheevening · 05/09/2023 21:59

No, they're out. Couldn't be arsed with that, no doubt I'd forget and have to get out wet and go and find them.

BlueThursday · 05/09/2023 22:00

Nope everything goes back in the drawers

im one of those weirdos who like their house to look like nobody lives there

Purpleavocado · 05/09/2023 22:00

No! I have a nice Simple Human caddy that cost a fortune, why would I leave it empty? I do put my toothpaste in the medicine cabinet though!

threecupsofteaminimum · 05/09/2023 22:01

All out around the bath, not time for buggering about putting things 'away', away where?

vipersnest1 · 05/09/2023 22:01

In the bathroom I have the same arrangement as you. In my shower, I've hung an over-the-door basket to hold toiletries.
I really couldn't be arsed with all of the extra flaff of getting out products every time I wanted to shower or bath. TheyWBU.

HappierTimesAhead · 05/09/2023 22:01

I also like to have a few different shampoos on the go at the same time so the ledge clutter is quite impressive. My house is the opposite of a show home.

Chasingsquirrels · 05/09/2023 22:02

I've got a really expensive 2 shelf thick wire thing in the ensuite, it was ex-display and we paid £15 reduced from £100+ about 20 years ago.
I'm imagining their faces when I say I want it back up in the new ensuite shower 😆.

I put mine out but in a small container tub

BackToOklahoma · 05/09/2023 22:04

Our bathrooms only have showers but we leave things out. We have inbuilt shelves in the showers for shampoos etc. There’s no way I’d remember to get them out from a cupboard or whatever every time.

User16328715 · 05/09/2023 22:04

DH leaves his Head and Shoulders shampoo on the windowsill. I have two wall dispensers for my shampoo and the shower gel, I don't use conditioner.

Ragwort · 05/09/2023 22:04

I try to remember to hide my favourite Badedas bath oil rather than let my DS use it ... but yes, a coupe of bottles around the bath ... despite having three separate bathrooms - with showers - (for three of us Blush) we have to share the actual bath which is located in DH's bathroom.

Oh dear, I've made one of those annoying posts where the title is the opposite to the question posed in the detail.

Your gist was perfectly clear though!

I put them away, we have a cabinet at the end of the bath, big cupboard and open shelves, I have my shower oil on a shelf in a refillable brown glass bottle but shampoo, conditioner etc goes away, same with DH and DCs stuff. We all use different products so if we all left our stuff out it would look a mess and DC would likely squirt it into his bath
