What is the most overrated destination you have ever been?

Valencia, graffiti absolutely everywhere.

Me too. Everyone I know who’s been loves it but I really didn’t like it.

Helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon didn’t live up to my expectations.

I'd say Blackpool but I'm not sure over rated is right as everyone warned me it was a dive before I went!

Niagra I sort of agree. We had a falls view room at the Sheraton and that was fabulous. Walking around (Canada side) it was very tacky and underwhelming but I discovered Hortons, which forgives it a bit.

I despise Blackpool yet apparently Venice is just like it. I liked Venice and it didn’t smell at all despite a boiling August.

Sydney, City was underwhelming...Blue mountains however is worth a visit.

Tenerife South is full of sunburnt British drunks. Too built up as well. So wouldn't rush back there.

Well I've been twice and I loved it so I can't agree....beautiful beaches, amazing food, wonderful people.

Cornwall. Overpriced. Either raining or crowded. Often both. A few pretty beaches but the towns are just full of tat and jackwills / seasalt / joules on repeat. Locals grumpy as whilst they want your money they don't want you.

Barcelona for me.
God yes. Got a free stay in friend's AirBNB and had to deal with a junkie out the door asking Senora, senora every time I came out! Bought him a sandwich, was still there next morning.

Thank fuck I live in a city where they moved all the old junkies to a farm up north.

How can anyone say Venice?! So beautiful even our teens were wowed. We went in summer 2020 and it was mostly empty. Unforgettable.

Nice - hated it. Its so noisy with traffic everywhere.

We loved Rome. So glamorous. Our whole area felt like a big party never been to a city like it.

I actually can’t believe some of the comments I’ve read?! I think some people must surely be on a wind up. Someone said the whole of France another the whole or Ireland. Do you know how ridiculous that makes you sound. It’s embarrassing. By all means we have different things we look for in a holiday destination but to write off a whole country is an absolute nonsense.
