What is the most overrated destination you have ever been?

There was heavy traffic with lots of scooters and the air smelt of diesel. Felt very claustrophic so was disappointed

So many places on here I've loved! New York, Paris, France, Barcelona, Berlin, Marrakech, Thailand etc. Only place I didn't love was Sicily, the beautiful villa in the photos turned out to be on a housing estate. The small town was dead in May and the nearby beaches were just mud. However, Taomina and the islands were stunning. I just find something interesting wherever I've travelled tbh

I always look for posters that agree with me. Trouble is so many places are a bit disappointing these days because they are either too busy or they morphed into a ubiquitous attraction.

Always sad ( and surprised) to hear New York is shit. As an 80’s child it was the only place you wanted to be. When I went in 1991 it was bloody amazing. The best of America x 100.

Took my teen dd to NYC this summer, it blew her mind.

She lives in Chicago so is used to USA cities but New York is still special.

@PinkPondQueen @margotmargeaux I am so surprised that you didn’t like Antigua. We went for a week in the May half term a few years ago and it was our best holiday ever and no mosquitoes at all. I react really badly to them so I would be interested to know what time of year and what side of the island you went to as I have always been planning to go back but can’t cope with mosquitoes at all.
