Anyone changed back to their winter duvet yet?

Assuming you have one that is

I have my summer one on currently. It's silk and 3-4 tog. Just realised I feel a bit ... chilly

Feels too early to put the winter one back on but may have to tomorrow

How about you?

This place is insane- half the people seem to think it is a heatwave if the temperature tops 20 degrees, whilst the other half are putting on the heating and wearing thermals if it drops below 20 degrees.

HappiDaze · 01/09/2023 14:24

I've been sleeping under my duvet cover all summer till last night when I switch back over to my 4.5 tog

Lancashire. Mostly rain. And a bit more rain
About 13c overnight at the minute

13 degrees isn't even remotely cold Confused

It was 14 degrees here when I took the dog for a walk this morning - it was t-shirt weather!

God no but I'm a peri boiler!

justcantgetenough · 01/09/2023 14:32

No still got 1 tog duvet on, I feel the cold but always hot in bed. Think it's down to pre menapausal.

Did have a heated throw over me downstairs but not switched on. Just had my hair cut short and my neck was freezing had to but a scarf on!

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 01/09/2023 14:46

I don't go as far as heating and thermals, but I do literally turn blue below 21°C. T-shirt weather starts at 24°C absolute minimum.

ShadyPaws · 01/09/2023 14:58

@andrainwillmaketheflowersgrow it's not during the day no but I get cold at night, always have done
I sleep with socks on all year round

HappiDaze · 01/09/2023 15:23

My tog stays at 4.5 for the winter and I like to sleep with the windows open

However I started HRT this year so it'll be intersecting to see how I feel the cold this winter or if I'll be boiling hot as per usual

Massivedicks · 01/09/2023 15:32

No it's 27 deg here next week !

andrainwillmaketheflowersgrow · 01/09/2023 15:35

If nothing else, I suppose this thread explains why some people have such extortionate heating bills!

DuesToTheDirt · 01/09/2023 16:16

Post-menopausal, and I no longer do winter duvets.

CantThinkOfANewUsernameAgain · 01/09/2023 16:38

Put our 10.5 on today. The 4.5 just felt a bit too chilly. Did dcs too yesterday

Newestname002 · 01/09/2023 16:38

I'm considering putting my thick feather bed on top of my mattress. Not only is it like sleeping in a cloud but it's extremely cosy. Then as it gets colder I'll swap the lightweight bedspread for a goose and feather duvet tucked around me. Bliss! 🌹

StopThatBloodyNoise · 01/09/2023 16:49

I've never had a winter duvet. Mine is 4.5 tog all year round. If I ever feel a bit cold, I put a fleece on top

primoseyellow · 01/09/2023 16:58

No, but I have had heating on. Im looking to find a really warm blanket I can use instead of a duvet.

Chipsahoy · 01/09/2023 17:02

North Scotland, haven’t changed out of mine at all this year 😳

LuluJili · 01/09/2023 17:06

I did this week. I'm an early riser (5am) and felt cold on waking a couple of mornings this week.

Sexnotgender · 01/09/2023 17:14

Nope, it’s still like 18 degrees overnight.

NonMiDispiace · 01/09/2023 17:16

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/09/2023 07:34

If you are in England or Wales, don't do it this weekend! It's going to get significantly warmer next week.

By day yes, not by night 😊

TheFlis12345 · 01/09/2023 17:42

We’re still sleeping under a cotton sheet (south east). We rarely go back to a duvet until early October and even then it’s a 4.5 tog.

Doggymummar · 01/09/2023 17:45

Ginmonkeyagain · 01/09/2023 14:21

You are wearing thermal leggings and a jumper in 33 degree heat? Are you an actual lizard?

According to my oh YES

CallistaFlockfart · 01/09/2023 17:46

Well the weather is warming up this week at least 8n the south so you might be too got with a thicker duvet. Certainly too early to change over for me. I'm always warm at night.

bluejumping · 01/09/2023 20:22

Forgot to change it to summer this year
