Sara Sharif

mauvish · 20/08/2023 18:42

Sara, aged 10, was found dead in the family home.

The police "want to speak" with Sara's father and his partner, who flew to Pakistan the day before Sara's body was found, and then phoned (don't know who) from there:

The call led officers to the house in Woking where they found the body of Sara who had sustained "multiple and extensive injuries", likely to have been caused over a sustained period of time.

Another child suffers at the hands of those who should care. I hope they get them back from Pakistan but I wonder what the chances of that are.

RIP, Sara.

All this speculation is odious!!! FFS a little girl has died!! WTF are you vultures all over it???!

Blueblell · 20/08/2023 23:45

I hope there is some some sort of investigation as to why she lost custody, if she has been in an abusive relationship.

I think things are being kept low key by the media and police because her brother is In Pakistan and presumably also at risk. There is no extradition from Pakistan and the goodwill of the Pakistan authorities will be required to get this family and this boy home.

To those asking why she sold her story. She has a funeral to pay for and possibly and international hunt for her son to deal with.

Yes we do. Every complaint is a report to SS. It's all very annoying and tedious

This is the same for us ??!! What on Earth is going on. So much SS resources and time wasted

ASDMumof2 · 21/08/2023 00:01

What a terrible loss of a life. RIP Sara.

Her poor mum hasn't been able to see her children for years, wtf. Sara obviously needed her.

There's a lot more to this story than meets the eye.

We need the perps brought to justice. There is no excise for harming a child. None ever.

They don't like spending resources and have a list of 'difficult' parents who know the law? They are incompetent and cover their a**e all the time.
The week LGO asked them to pay me for 2 years of missed education, a referral.
The week they interpreted SENDIST judgement that said x school is named and the child MUST go there and I declined said school, yup, a referral.
SS then don't have actual time to spend dealing with real life issues.
Found SS fair and they weren't pleased at the extra paperwork.

Radyward · 21/08/2023 00:24

Her father and uncle scarpered to Pakistan taking 5 other kids there all younger than 13. They need to be caught and brought back for questioning.

Piccalino3 · 21/08/2023 00:25

I've been looking for a thread to acknowledge this poor little girl. She has been on my mind, it's so horrific. The thought that a 10 year old could be laying alone, dead, with no one is just awful, and that's not even taking into account what she must have gone through. Hard to imagine the poor other children who have been taken abroad, who may have known their sister or relative was murdered, or who have suffered abuse themselves. I feel so sick and sad for poor little Sara, I can only hope the abuse was short lived and that the children are found and brought to safety, as well as those responsible brought to justice.

Poor poor little girl.

FlamingYam · 22/08/2023 22:27

I can't believe the media are not covering this more and the lack of Mumsnet threads.

Typical story here I think. New mum does not like children from old marriage and the effect it has on the beloved shared children so step children are abused. Abuse leads to death and these parents have a chance to escape unlike recent abuse cases where police are called with another excuse for injuries?!

Would it be fair to say the brother, being male, is more "valuable" and not abused or he could be with them still being abused?

I couldn't get my head round why he was calling from abroad previously and how he would know but they left the poor angel there dead, or worse, dying.

FerryPink · 22/08/2023 22:42

Agreed.

It's a heartbreaking story and it's clear there needs to be a real spotlight on how it could get to this point

PickledMuffin · 22/08/2023 22:56

I've seen it reported on Sky News that the uncle claimed Sara 'fell down the stairs and broke her neck' - the news uncle also claims he hasn't seen his brother.

Ohyousillydivvy · 22/08/2023 22:58

It could be a tactical decision by the police & media to keep reporting to a minimum. The family have fled to the Punjab area of Pakistan where they've probably got a network to help them disappear. The police will be aware of this so won't want to make the situation even more difficult than it is.

lightsonp · 22/08/2023 23:20

Pakistani police has spoken to Urfan's brother, Imran:

"Beinash was home with the children. Sara fell down the stairs and broke her neck. Beinash panicked and phoned Urfan."

news.sky.com/story/sara-sharif-girl-10-found-dead-at-woking-home-fell-down-stairs-and-broke-her-neck-uncle-claims-12945480

If this was true, why would they flee in a panic? Why not call the ambulance?

It's not true. How many abused children's parents say similar or twist the truth?

FerryPink · 22/08/2023 23:46

I don't think anyone believes it for a second @FlamingYam

RadioFoot · 23/08/2023 07:47

This is so sad. That poor little girl. And I can see the adults took 5 children between the ages of.5 and 13 to Jhelum too. Imagine how the 13 year Old feels. I hope the authorities hunt them down fast. And I hope the Pakistani police offer full cooperation, for the sake of justice for that young girl and her siblings. What sick animals pass as humans these days.

Bunnycat101 · 23/08/2023 08:06

Bollocks did she just fall down the stairs poor child. I was incensed reading the reporting this morning. I can’t see him ever being sent back to face justice sadly. Even if the ‘slipped down the stairs’ sorry were true someone would call an ambulance rather than hiding it and booking a plane ticket.

Lindy2 · 23/08/2023 08:37

I'm very worried for the other children.

Her 13 year old brother is old enough to understand what has happened. Imagine knowing your sister has been killed and just left in the house. I really hope she wasn't still alive when they left her.

The other younger children are vulnerable too. How can 5 children be hidden on a long term basis? There must be people in Pakistan who know where they are and hopefully someone will want a child killer brought to justice.

MoustacheTwirler · 23/08/2023 08:38

This is so sad and I can't even begin to imagine what the siblings and step siblings must be going through - scurried away in the middle of the night, leaving their home, friends, school and dead sister behind.

This is a shocking story and I am really surprised that it is not more prominent in the news. The British police have said she "suffered multiple and extensive injuries over a sustained and extended period" which not tally with an accidental fall down the stairs. That poor little girl.

Given the police in Pakistan are interrogating one of the uncles to try and establish the families location is hopefully a good indication that the Police are taking it very seriously there.

ClaraThePigeon · 23/08/2023 08:43

This is a shocking story and I am really surprised that it is not more prominent in the news.

I can't speak for other news sites but it's featured on the front page of the BBC news site since they found Sara dead. And yes, poor little girl indeed. It's horrific and I hope that they can find and extradite her killer(s) in spite of the lack of treaty.

Efacsen · 23/08/2023 08:51

There hasn't really been a lot of new information to publish in the news

Daily banner headlines saying 'we're still looking for our main suspect' would acheive what exactly

Efacsen · 23/08/2023 08:51

There hasn't really been a lot of new information to publish in the news

Daily banner headlines saying 'we're still looking for our main suspect' would acheive what exactly

The police have asked ""We're looking to hear from anybody who lived in the area who regularly saw Sara going about her daily routine. Any parents who may know of Sara from school or other regular activities. Any parties that might have gone on out of school, or anyone who had any form of contact with her really, no matter how insignificant it might seem."

This would suggest there is something to be gained by the police by keeping this story in the news.

Efacsen · 23/08/2023 09:24

Maybe the local news/SM/other social networks yes - but really question the value of seeking that information in the whole of the UK thro' MSM and 'being in the news' prominently and consistently

MoustacheTwirler · 23/08/2023 10:10

Sara sustained injuries which were likely caused over a period of time and until it is established what exactly happened to Sara and why, her siblings are surely also at risk. Many people in the UK have family in Pakistan and travel to and from there themselves so by bringing attention to this story may assist the authorities in tracking down the father, step mother and uncle quickly and bring justice for this little girl and safeguard her siblings.

Dramatico · 23/08/2023 10:24

TheBeesKnee · 20/08/2023 23:34

Poor girl, it's all so disturbing.

Why is a 10 year old wearing a full face of make up as well? What on earth was going on over there?

Thank you. That photo, with the full adult make up, little frock and sat on a bed looking blankly at someone behind the camera, raises a lot of red flags for me. This is desperately sad and sinister. I hope for justice soon.

cato40 · 23/08/2023 10:47

Maybe the dad used the girls mum to get a UK passport.
Easy to lose custody when you are a white foreigner in the UK, especially if struggling with English. Bet that if she was given the opportunity to take her kids back to Poland she would have done that but dad needed her in the UK to claim benefits. My gut feeling is that the step mother used her as a family slave and was used to hitting her. The poor child!
