Oh I’m with you. I have 60p in the bank. That’s it until payday. Someone at work told me they were skint the other day and I thought that someone understood, then she said she had to dip into her savings to get through the month.

Yeah, it sucks.

I’m with you. I’m a single parent with two kids. I’ve got a precarious job, huge debts and a mortgage. At one point my mortgage had gone up 55% luckily I fixed it and brought this down a bit. Kids NEED stuff to go back to school with. I’ve stopped paying some of my debts cause I had no choice and my credit is now buggered. My car is very old and is on its last legs. The stress has really taken its toll on me over the last year in particular. Doing basic things exhausts me. I spent much of my time in bed or sleeping to escape. It’s no life. Yes there is an element of depression, but I don’t really know how to change that unless my circumstances change.

It amazes me that so many people have such different ideas of being skint. They really seem to have no idea what it's like trying to make a meal out of next to nothing, and not being able to afford what should be simple things like haircuts and new shoes.

I have been skint my whole life, and I'm in my fifties, it's never going to be any different. Life can be such a struggle.

What do you do?

I'd like to know this too. I've thought about selling used knickers online, but then remember that I'm 53 and my knickers are like parachutes 😂

Buy cheap ones from primark in small size leave them mixed in dirty washing for a bit .

I sympathise op. It's never nice to have no money.
Just a thought but one way To save a little bit, have you considered batch cooking meals? For example, I will make A Lasagne, a cottage pie and a curry. Which will make me eighteen meals in the freezer. I appreciate it's not going to change your life financially. But every little bit helps.
