Shaun of the. Dead - blooming love that film. I am so not highbrow!

Generally, I’d never seek out a film to watch again, but there are sone that I’d watch if they randomly pop up on a schedule.

Am a sucker for 80’s films - so Dirty Dancing, St Elmo’s Fire, Gremlins, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Poltergeist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Lost Boys, ET. If they happened to be on then I’d definitely watch again.

Catsmere · 12/08/2023 04:05

Ruthless People
Sense and Sensibility
The first four of the Hornblower TV movies
The Wrong Box
The Triplets of Belleville
And Now For Something Completely Different
Damn the Defiant!
The Full Monty
Toy Story (1-3)
The Italian Job (the Michael Caine one, not the remake)

and probably others I don't remember right now! I tend to think of films or series the same as books - if I don't want to watch/read it again, it's not worth shelf space.

@Busubaba "Leave Her to Heaven" - Gene Tierney had a unique beauty. Absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly cast as the haunting Laura.

Tezza1 · 12/08/2023 04:25

@SlippinJanie Must agree with virtually all your films.

I noticed a couple of Alastair Sim's movies. High on the list of my favourites of his would be "Laughter in Paradise". Just brilliant. Although, he was so watchable in virtually everything.

About a boy

The Devil Wears Prada

So far these two are the only ones mentioned that I rewatch.

My taste is fairly predictable & not highbrow:

The Switch
Just Like Heaven
Sully (adore this movie)
The Terminal (super acting)
Pete's Dragon (remake; I watch this regularly but get very emotional so I pace myself)
Christopher Robin (possibly my favourite movie. I love it. It's hard to find on streaming services, my DC got it on DVD for me, so happy!)

I love all your choices

I will also add:

Captain Phillips. Superb acting, cast, everything

Still Life

Last Christmas

Sound of Music

Oh she was absolutely the most beautiful woman. Such a sad life though.

RitzyMcFitzy · 12/08/2023 08:16

I felt seen by the Barbie film where it mentions a certain kind of woman having the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice as their comfort watch.
