What's good in Morrison's?

I've recently moved to a new house where Morrison's is within walking distance. It's one supermarket I've never used before. Wondered if there's anything particularly nice there, as I'm finding it a bit bewildering at the moment!

I like the fresh cream cakes. The rest is shit tbh and very expensive.

BingoBastards · 03/08/2023 19:34

I like their tubs of prunes and powdered strawberry milkshake with vit d3.

They used to do an incredible Xmas chocolate box but not sure if that's discontinued

HollyFern1110 · 03/08/2023 19:34

I like Morrisons. The jam doughnuts are especially good 😂.

It is expensive though.

HoliHormonalTigerLillyTheSecond · 03/08/2023 19:40

The fish counter
The wine

HermioneWeasley · 03/08/2023 19:44

The beef is amazing - steaks, roasting joints etc.

ginghamstarfish · 03/08/2023 19:44

The best thing would be the exit.

listlovers · 03/08/2023 19:45

Agree with @ginghamstarfish - there is nothing good at Morrisons.

dementedpixie · 03/08/2023 19:46

I like their fruit. They have a 3 for 2 on lots of it just now. Bakery stuff is nice too.

Ygfrhj · 03/08/2023 19:47

They have an actual butchers and fishmongers counter in ours. Their pre-prepared stuff is not amazing but always prefer them for meat and produce.

Dombasle · 03/08/2023 19:48

Morrisons and the Co op are the worst supermarkets in my opinion.

Loads the cheese aisle in Morrisons, if I correctly recall from ages ago, is absolutely crap.

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/08/2023 19:48

Scotch pies at the bakery counter
3 for £10 offer in the seafood freezer
Salad bar

orangegato · 03/08/2023 19:49

Morrisons is hands down the worst supermarket. M&S prices for Netto quality. Walk further to a different shop.

Autumnvintage · 03/08/2023 19:49

Majool dates, organic Graham's milk, salads, ready salted potato sticks,my lovely son who works there.

ApolloandDaphne · 03/08/2023 19:51

I love Morrison. It's the supermarket nearest to me (by a long way). I'm always very disappointed if I go Tesco, Sainsbury or Asda. The meat and fish are good. I've never had a problem with the fruit and veg. I also like the bread and the cheese.

Movinghouseatlast · 03/08/2023 19:51

The fresh mashed potato is wonderful.

EnthENd · 03/08/2023 19:51

Longley Farm cottage cheese!

It's not a Morrisons exclusive, but most supermarkets don't stock it, and it's way better than the usual own-brand stuff.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 03/08/2023 19:53

I like the bread, but only if it's baked on site. Went to the Morrisons in Amble and they were selling crap made elsewhere. The only point of Morrisons is the bread and cakes.

How close are you to M&S? Their basics are often cheaper and there's an abundance of loveliness in every aisle.

Mimilamore · 03/08/2023 19:55

The fresh pies...

AIBot · 03/08/2023 19:57

The staff are nice but the food is crap. Expensive but low quality.

Sandals94 · 03/08/2023 19:57

The jam doughnuts are amazing!

Greenfree · 03/08/2023 19:57

The bakery is really good and so is their deli counter

gettingolderbutcooler · 03/08/2023 19:57

NOT the fruit that's for sure!
Their meat is good, and their fresh baked items.

Fairygoblin · 03/08/2023 19:59

Best range of fresh bread out of all the supermarkets. Their meat aisles have a very good range of cuts and types that I haven't seen in other supermarkets

ElleLeopine · 03/08/2023 20:00

I have always found their meat very good.

Their peppercorn steak sauce is awesome, and I tend to buy it in multiples.

lij8793 · 03/08/2023 20:01

The samosas on their hot food counter!
