Is there truth in when someone says something when they're drunk? friend texted me whilst drunk.

Friend is away for a couple of days for a stag do. He doesn't normally drink so guessing not much would render him quite drunk. Last night I received a text at 1am but didn't see it till this morning. It was written terribly with a lot of typos and repeated letters in words so took me a few moments to understand what it said. The coherent version...without some random stuff at the beginning..

"Juyetii, poppy. I miss you. I wish you were here with me. Its so fucking beautiful. So so beautiful. Is it too late to tell you how I feel. You're the one. Let's go back to the beginning. I'm just wasting time. I know it might be complicated but it doesn't matter. it will be okay. I'm too fucking scared to tell you. I wish you feel the same.

I haven't received anything from him yet nor have I replied. I don't know what to make it of it really. Im pretty sure he was drunk when he sent it. Does he actually mean it if he was drunk? Do I bring it up / ignore it?! I've been thinking about it all day!

I get the complication. I’m with a white agnostic guy (Muslim Pakistan background) I have kids with him and honestly, alongside my children, he is simply the best thing that’s ever happened to me. my best friend, lover, light of my life. I really would be lost without him

I ermed and ahhhd for ages and even told him re family / faith complications. Bless him he said he’d come over for dinner and win them over 😂😂

Similar background, and I made the mistake of letting someone go years ago because he was white and not of my faith. Married someone from my background, and it was an utter disaster. Still in touch with the other person, but we won’t get together as our circumstances won’t align. I wish you all the very best - you both sound fabulous!

Just been reading the whole thread. You deserve a happy life but if you are practising muslim it will be a challenge for you so you need to have this conversation with him on how you move forward. But good luck whichever way your life takes you.

Been reading all OP's posts hoping to find out if she liked him like he liked her and if, if, if ... how utterly lovely! This thread has given me a big smile to take to bed with me.

It can work op. I have a friend who is Muslim and her husband is non religious and not from Muslim background. They get on well. She does her thing and is big part of her mosque. He comes to some family things at the mosque as they are very welcoming. Really doesn't cause them any problems that they havnt talked out. Kids are being raised as Muslims.
