Is there truth in when someone says something when they're drunk? friend texted me whilst drunk.

Friend is away for a couple of days for a stag do. He doesn't normally drink so guessing not much would render him quite drunk. Last night I received a text at 1am but didn't see it till this morning. It was written terribly with a lot of typos and repeated letters in words so took me a few moments to understand what it said. The coherent version...without some random stuff at the beginning..

"Juyetii, poppy. I miss you. I wish you were here with me. Its so fucking beautiful. So so beautiful. Is it too late to tell you how I feel. You're the one. Let's go back to the beginning. I'm just wasting time. I know it might be complicated but it doesn't matter. it will be okay. I'm too fucking scared to tell you. I wish you feel the same.

I haven't received anything from him yet nor have I replied. I don't know what to make it of it really. Im pretty sure he was drunk when he sent it. Does he actually mean it if he was drunk? Do I bring it up / ignore it?! I've been thinking about it all day!

He means it. So take the chance to ask him if he wants to act on it. If he doesn't then he doesn't deserve you anyway.

Are you both single? Sounds as if you're not. If you're interested, tell him that you're not prepared to do anything until you are both properly free. And that means PROPERLY!! And (forgive me-I'm old enough to be your mum!) if anything does happen before you're free then use effective contraception you're in control of. And try to do something about the "he's out of your league" thing. It will skew your thinking about the future.

Is it actually complicated? Like he is your child's father's brother/ your manager at work etc. That really needs consideration. Or something that's not really a complication but because you've known each other for long it just feels like it?

I've lately noticed with my friends that a lot of them seem to write if guys they've known due to complications that are not there. People have matured but for some reason when it comes to this they are stuck in their 22yo mindset.

I think it's fairly clear that he is married/ in a relationship with someone else.

However people do stupid things when drunk. Look at how many ONS people have then regret them? They spend £££ gambling. Getting arrested.

No I don't think it's romantic that a probably-not-single guy strings along a single mum! Hopefully there'll be a happy ending but OP should be careful.

This is great but I’d also be a bit cautious.

It is possible he’s seeing his friend getting married and is now panicking that he’s going to be the only single one out of his friends and so he’s texting his ex’s as he feels lonely.

I don’t want to put a downer on it but I know a couple of friends who did the same thing and it was always when their friends got engaged, married or had a baby.
The relationships didn’t last.
