I have constipation as a complication of endometriosis.

Im on lactulose and senna. Which hasn't made a lot of difference.

Any tried and tested methods i could try? Id be so grateful 🙏

Magnesium sulphate, added to a cup of tea. I had to run to the loo!

Mints? I couldn't shit for days and ate a packet of extra strong mints and went within a few hours

Was just going to say the same. Sugar free polo's. Just half a pack. Don't go too mad. Also kiwis too.

Doesn't that turn into a bit of a slimy paste type thing? How unpleasant is it to drink? It sounds like a great solution, just wondering if I could bear to drink it!

It's not the best thing I've ever drunk, a bit like frog spawn ! Just chug it down and hold your breath ! Worth it though for the resuls! Make sure they are whole golden linseeds ( same thing , different name )

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I can't do coffee or monster as i have a mild heart issue.

My stool is soft. The issue is that the endo has caused a bit of an L bend. And my bowels/bladder and everything is stuck. The Dr suggested the senna, as he said my bowel muscles need "a bit of oomph"

Was hoping id wake up this morning and have a 5lb poo. Quite disappointed that didnt happen, i even went to the lengths of weighing myself before 🤣🤣

OP I think you need a Squatty Potty!

We've just bought one and honestly they're incredible. It's basically a little stool (lol excuse the pun) but shaped so that it can slot around the toilet, and you put your feet on it while sat on the loo. What happens is that it puts you in a posture where your bowel is slanted at the correct and most helpful angle for a bowel movement. On top of the advice you've already had, this could be really beneficial for you.

Epicstorm · 27/07/2023 16:22

Tinned prunes and then stay close the loo.

Coffee and a couple of Marlboro lights?

That's the only guaranteed way to poo I've seen on here 😂 First thing on the morning and all will be cleared out!

Hopefulandwaiting · 27/07/2023 16:25

Another for oranges, but I do 2l orange juice quickly - if you can squeeze it fresh and drink the pulp in it you’ll be going in no times!

My friend says Bran Flakes help her?

PrudenceDictates · 27/07/2023 16:37

Prunes, figs, orange and banana, made into a smoothie with linseeds and some oats. Delicious, too!

Also, high dose magnesium at night, and 30 minutes on treadmill definitely get me going! I always poo after my run.

Clawdy · 27/07/2023 16:44

Califig is good, but it's so expensive for a fairly small bottle.

Coastalcreeksider · 27/07/2023 16:45

I bought one of those little fold up stools, originally to reach the shower head but it's more use to put my feet on when sitting on the throne.

Can also recommend drinking very strong, ground coffee first thing. Sometimes I have to sprint upstairs as it starts to move things along pretty rapidly. 😱

cosmosheep · 27/07/2023 16:45

I was going to suggest a saltwater flush but definitely not if you have a heart issue.

Gets me flowing like a river though if I get a bit stuck !

andjustlikethat1 · 27/07/2023 16:48

Laxido are amazing take 8 in one day spaced out and it will all pass, and it will not be as unpleasant as some of the others. I was really bad and it helped so much. You can buy a box at chemist or the doctor can prescribe them

OLDERME · 27/07/2023 16:49

A warning about Laxido: go very gently with the dosage. I took it for a week and nothing happened. I increased it to 2 sachets, and I was incontinent of faeces for two weeks. Very, very unpleasant.! :)

RB68 · 27/07/2023 16:49

Drinking shed loads of fluid, good coffee, grapes and a warm bath

Currysoup · 27/07/2023 16:50

A cup of prune juice warmed up in the microwave or over the cooker and drink it. It sounds horrible but it's not too bad. The results are like a colonoscopy type prep for about half an hour or so. Takes me about 10/15/20 minutes before action on the loo.

Boopeedoop · 27/07/2023 16:54

A whole fresh pineapple.

Or a jar of beetroot.

Lots of water.

A long walk

Raise your feet while sitting on the loo.

Ohmylovejune · 27/07/2023 16:55

Walking!

Teddypops · 27/07/2023 16:59

Online shop

whatausername · 27/07/2023 17:00

Keep up the water (super important, esp. with lactulose). Try apple juice, the sorbitol can help. Prunes are good too. Exercise also helps to get things moving, even a walk or going up and down some stairs.

ScribblingPixie · 27/07/2023 17:02

Big mug of warm water first thing in the morning & some exercise.

Kugela · 27/07/2023 17:03

Prunes! Tinned prunes, not dried ones and not prune juice. Eat at least 6 in one go then have some more a few hours later if nothing happens.

Coffee and a cigarette works for me.

TBF that works for everything in my life

BloodandGlitter · 27/07/2023 17:08

Do you have a Heron foods near you? They sell these "mini raspberry danishes" frozen in a blue bag in their excel range, they're really lovely but they always always force a clear out in me for some reason.
