So far, I'm thinking that washing powder and cotton wool pads are prob alt good value.

Thanks!

If you use it, Aldi has cheapest soya milk prices. Peanut butter is also good value.

Frozen prawns
Greek yoghurt
Italian / Spanish meat platters
Lunchbox size chocolate biscuit packs

I shop at Aldi or Sainsburys but the above I always get from Aldi.

Bonfire23 · 25/07/2023 13:02

TBH I've never had an issues with anything I've bought! Everything has been decent

MrsElf · 25/07/2023 13:05

For us;
olives
bread/baps
cured meats
hummus/fancy coleslaws
69p individual chilled coffee drinks
dog harness/leads/biscuits
wheatabix dupes
the special frozen desserts can be lovely

BUT
so far all ice creams have been nasty!

Burgerqueenbee · 25/07/2023 13:08

Nappies and wipes.
Frozen soy mince.
Chia seeds are really cheap and one pouch is enough to refill one of the branded plastic shaker pot with the orange label (can't think of the name at the moment).
Coconut milk is cheaper than other supermarkets but not as cheap as B&M

ComputerInitiateJump · 25/07/2023 13:13

I go aldi for most of our cleaning supplies and basic toiletries, dishwasher tabs, bin bags, loo rolls etc.

Catsmere · 25/07/2023 13:15

Everything I buy there is great (although the tinned fruit is too sugary). I particularly like the Belmont choc chip and Scotch finger biscuits and the Alcafe cappuccino and mocha.

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 25/07/2023 13:16

Second the cleaning products - esp the cleaning spray with bleach - it’s brilliant.
also find things like sun dried tomato jars /pesto are v good value.
we do our full shop there tho so get everything there tbh

Dollyparton3 · 25/07/2023 13:18

The marmite at Aldi is significantly cheaper than the main brand and in my opinion much nicer

Elllicam · 25/07/2023 13:21

The chocolate chip brioche loaf is lovely.

Their fruit and veg is cheap / good value

They do a great tiger bread. McDonald’s style hash browns and nuggets are a fave with DS. Tbh I’ve not found anything there that has disappointed me, switched to doing our weekly shop there a month ago.

Teapleasebobb · 25/07/2023 13:25

Everything tbh! Just did my big shop in there today and got everything apart from yeast (they did used to sell this though!)
I get annoyed in other supermarkets when they advertise an Aldi price match as they don't offer all products with the price match so I couldn't do my full shop in another supermarket for the same price that I pay at Aldi, plus, the price match products are inferior quality to the Aldi alternative!

userxx · 25/07/2023 13:25

Melt in the middle fishcakes are lovely, the normal ones are really good too. I like everything from Aldi to be honest.

Gadooza · 25/07/2023 13:27

Also some of their wine is really nice

sausagelastrange · 25/07/2023 13:27

Almost everything- the only brands I still buy are Marmite, HP sauce (tried Aldi and it's not as nice), Fairy washing pods and Flora

MNetcurtains · 25/07/2023 13:27

Norpack butter. Same ingredients as Lurpak, but less than half the price. possible from the same supplier, but different name.

Agree 100%

CurlewKate · 25/07/2023 13:37

Wine. Frozen fish. Bavette steak. Foreign" frozen meals. We always ate a couple in the freezer and they are much better than British ones. Fake Jo Malone candles. Crisps. Spices. The baked beans and cornflakes and still water aren't nice, but everything else I've tried is.

mondaytosunday · 25/07/2023 13:37

Always found their smoked salmon to be really good.

Isnt it, they do a lovely rioja which is a rip off of a much more expensive one. The pinot grigio at £3.99 is also nice.

Thanks for the tips!! I can recommend their Canadian riesling and a cabernet sauvignon they do with colourful writing on the front 😁 They also do an organic malbec which somehow magically doesn’t seem to give you hangovers (tested on several occasions for statistical significance).

I remember seeing a bit of a tussle one NY for their last organic prosecco (true story!)

Which one is this please @userxx love a good rioja

Loo roll. Moser Roth chocolate, tastes like Lindt. Also agree about the "marmite."
