So far, I'm thinking that washing powder and cotton wool pads are prob alt good value.

Thanks!

Nappies
Some of the skin & beauty products
Herbs, spices, pickles, sauce
Olive oil
Cheese
Fish
The butter (like lurpack)
Some of the frozen puddings - I like the lemon meringue pie
The crispy chicken burgers! I don’t eat much meat, but I love these.

Thanks for the tips!! I can recommend their Canadian riesling and a cabernet sauvignon they do with colourful writing on the front 😁 They also do an organic malbec which somehow magically doesn’t seem to give you hangovers (tested on several occasions for statistical significance).

I remember seeing a bit of a tussle one NY for their last organic prosecco (true story!)

Oooh which Malbec please @Gadooza ? 🍷

Their Nutella (Nutoka) has passed taste tests in our house - rated either as good as or better than the original. Their Greek yoghurt is also lovely, and mature cheddar.

museumum · 25/07/2023 17:16

wine and craft beer. mil who shops at waitrose often requests we pick her up a greco tufo.
also the meat is good, the premium aldi brand stuff - beef and venison steak.
almost all their dupes are identical to the big brands too.

GoldenKiwi · 25/07/2023 17:37

Their Laundry detergent and dishwasher tablets are very good.

Not mad on their fruit - I always seem to have to bin it, it goes off quickly.

Decafflatteplease · 25/07/2023 18:01

We like....

Toilet roll (how boring 😂) the purpleyblue packet
Laundry non bio pods in a blue tub

Rollitos
Sliced potatoes with ham in that you fry, great for easy teas
The value sliced chicken tikka cooked chunks
Family packs of ham, breaded one especially
All cheese is good there
Greek yogurt
Split pot yogurt like Muller corner

Brioche and pain au chocolate for snacks
Crisps especially the meaty 6 pack ridge ones
All cereal good
Cereal bars
Chocolate oaty biscuits are addictive
Mini bags of kids biscuits great for days out
Malted bloomer loaf our weekend treat

Vintage cider is lovely
DH likes tbe stubby bottles of lager

Basically everything is good except the meat we don't like it from there the chicken is always swimming In water in our local one.

Choceur almond and milk chocolate bars

MrsHsGirl · 25/07/2023 18:29

The brioche rolls are by far the nicest of all supermarkets

SleepWouldBeADream · 25/07/2023 18:31

Wagyu burgers 😋

Chanhedforthis · 25/07/2023 18:40

Nappies Wipes and laundry pods for us.

timtam23 · 25/07/2023 18:41

Choc chip brioche sliced loaf, really nice and much better value than other supermarkets.
The wholenut peanut butter (like the Meridian branded one) tastes identical to meridian but is much cheaper.
The Moser Roth chocolate
Washing powder
European cheeses (I like their Manchego)
Potato gratin, the one from their luxury range. I love this for autumn/winter hot meals.
Corn cakes (similar to rice cakes) they taste exactly the same as the branded ones.
My family really like the cardboard tub of choc chip brownie ice cream, I'm not a fan but it's a lot cheaper than the banded one so I buy it for them as a treat.
Halloumi fries from the freezer section, I love halloumi.

threecupsofteaminimum · 25/07/2023 18:43

Lacura soap free face gel wash is excellent as is the Lacura day and night moisturiser, the caviar one is about 7 quid but it's a dupe for a very posh expensive La Prairie one.

Shade17 · 25/07/2023 18:50

It’s all terrible value once you take into account the wetsuit/chainsaw that you didn’t need and wouldn’t have bought if you’d gone to Morrisons.

TabbyBeast · 25/07/2023 19:05

@decafflatteplease ooo which section is the sliced potato and ham please??

The ground coffee is good, we get the 'French' no. 5 and my husband and I both really like it. It's getting towards £2 now when it used to be £1.50ish but still a great deal as can be so expensive elsewhere.

Agree their version of Nutella and their peanut butter, also the nuts in the baking section almonds etc for snacking.

Smoothies for kids cheaper than Innocent etc - hate that I have to buy them for autistic DS as their just rubbish sugar but at least I can save money buying them. Also their wonky or kiddy apples as he goes through them like no one's business.

CurlewKate · 25/07/2023 19:32

The frozen seafood is great-just making pasta for dinner with some at the moment.

whoruntheworldgirls · 25/07/2023 19:45

I like a lot of things at Aldi, the specially select curry sauces are great.
Gorgeous tiger loaf
Love the costa rica instant coffee
Worm sweets
Their watermelon ice lollies.

Following for the wine recommendations 😄

Rockbird · 25/07/2023 19:50

They are the only place that sell chocolate rich tea biscuits which are far superior to chocolate digestives. Or at least they were as they seem to be out of stock in my nearest ones.

userxx · 25/07/2023 20:19

@Decafflatteplease It's called Baron Amarillo Rioja, yellow label, verrrrry similar to the Campo Viejo Rioja at double the price.

userxx · 25/07/2023 20:22

@Gadooza I'll add those to my list, thanks very much 🍷. The organic stuff is magic, safe to drink a glass too many on a weeknight without regret.

Gadooza · 25/07/2023 20:36

listlovers · 25/07/2023 17:13

Oooh which Malbec please @Gadooza ? 🍷

I can’t think what it’s called! But i think it’s Argentinian with a green label and a picture of a sun or rays of sunshine.

Mamia nappies are very good. The skin care ranges are excellent.
