If I didn't have a family to feed...

I think I could happily survive on a G&T and some peanuts for dinner most nights. Could be just end of term knackeredness, I suppose!

I will motivate myself to get up and cook something any minute now. Aaaaany minute....

Amen to that. For me it would be marmite toast, kettle chips and cheese.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 19/07/2023 18:43

I love cheese. I'll add cheese and crackers to my meal plan. But that's as much food prep as I'll do.

Oh god yeah. Dh is out one night a week, I cook for the kids obviously but something really quick and easy, done in 30 minutes and on the table. I don’t bother, just have some crackers or something!
If I lived on my own I’d survive on quavers and marmite on toast.

GigiAnnna · 19/07/2023 18:45

Bottle of wine and Marshmallow fluff and peanut butter sandwich for me. Even better on toasted fruit bread.

WeeOrcadian · 19/07/2023 18:45

Tortellini with sriracha and cheese

And rose wine

Yes, thank you

ABugWife · 19/07/2023 18:46

I could live on cereal for dinner, I would have a variety over the week of course.

HappyHolidays22 · 19/07/2023 18:47

I was just about to say cereal for me haha

Lapland123 · 19/07/2023 18:47

Absolutely!

Maybe we should introduce ‘low effort evenings’ and everyone can have cheese on toast and hot chocolate! I am so over cooking these blooming dinners too!!

SheWontSheCantShesLeft · 19/07/2023 18:48

Dh and I have agreed no meals for first two years after dc leave

AutumnCrow · 19/07/2023 18:48

I haven’t eaten for over 24 hours. I’ll eat when I can be arsed. It’s great.

MonkeyPuddle · 19/07/2023 18:49

Ooh I could happily eat chicken, salad and cous cous every single day. Easy variations, takes 20 mins, tasty.

Thisishard23 · 19/07/2023 18:49

Fish fingers wraps was all I could muster here.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 19/07/2023 18:50

This all getting a bit complicated. Peanuts in a bowl was about as much as I could cope with. And I could always forgo the bowl.

Ha if DH is out I have a “sofa picnic” which is something like cheese, fruit and cereal. Covers the food groups right?

Thewarrioress · 19/07/2023 18:51

Cheese on toast and wine. Heaven!

spidermonkeys · 19/07/2023 18:52

I would have the following.

Monday. Peanut butter on toast.
Tuesday. Cheese and crackers.
Wednesday. Weetabix.
Thursday. Pita bread and dip
Friday. Chunky kit cats
Saturday. Marmite on toast.
Sunday. Takeaway.

When DH is out (which is not that frequently) I don’t cook anything for myself more complex than cheese on toast or a microwave ready meal. Sometimes I just have cereal or crisps and snacks!

I’m so over planning and cooking a family dinner every single day, for what feels like eternity. And it’s the summer holidays so now they need lunches too.

Lovelynames123 · 19/07/2023 18:57

I only have my dc half the week, my meals the other half are pretty much snacks!

DyslexicPoster · 19/07/2023 18:59

Butter, toast and tomato soup mmmmm......

Instead in making potatoe salad, chicken in a Nandos marinade with salad and French stick. The kids are already moaning about it.

I might just slice the butter into the French stick and eat that. Alone. In the bath. With the door locked.

I'm with you. I would pour my wine into a glass, though. I'm not a savage.

DH is taking the kids away for a week in the holidays. That’s my menu sorted!

User6424678852 · 19/07/2023 19:00

Yeah, this is why I am fat.

I am quite satisfied after breakfast and lunch, but DH sulks if there isn’t a proper meal for dinner 🙄

Cheese on toast and wine. Heaven!

Me too please!

Andywarholswig · 19/07/2023 19:02

I’d live on fishfinger wraps, kebabs and kettle chips dipped in humus on a rotating basis with sparkling water with elderflower
