British actor

I'm really hoping someone can put me out of misery figuring out who the actor is I'm thinking of, as it is truly taking over my life!
He is a British actor, usually plays middle/upper class. I think he must have been at least 50s in the 90s (massive apologies to him if I'm miles out!), silver hair and moustache. I remember him playing slimy characters but I can't honestly bring one to mind.
I've google imaged for days but can't find him as I'm not too sure on search terms. Please can anyone help?

I can only think of Rupert Vansittart at the moment, but he rarely has a tache.

I know he seems to have been born old but Rupert Vansittart was only in his 30s in the 1990s. He was 37 in Pride & Prejudice 1995 (played drunken Mr Hurst) but was the same age as Adrian Lukis (Wickham) only 2 years older than Colin Firth (Darcy)

According to IMDB Nigel Davenport was in both Midsomer Murders and Howards Way. He looks like you described.
