British actor

I'm really hoping someone can put me out of misery figuring out who the actor is I'm thinking of, as it is truly taking over my life!
He is a British actor, usually plays middle/upper class. I think he must have been at least 50s in the 90s (massive apologies to him if I'm miles out!), silver hair and moustache. I remember him playing slimy characters but I can't honestly bring one to mind.
I've google imaged for days but can't find him as I'm not too sure on search terms. Please can anyone help?

Has this now morphed into a 'name an older actor whom you think/thought was a bit of alright in a more mature dignified way' thread?!

If not then it should ☺️

Not that it's my thread or business, but I never said it shouldn't!

Yup, that's definitely him, the middle picture especially. Huge thank you to those who suggested him! [Flowers]

That's funny, the photo bottom right is of LAURENCE Harvey!!!🙄

@ThankYouForWaiting
I'm going to make an educated guess you, like me, also fancied Martin Shaw in The Professionals?

More Judge John Deed, I like them older Grin

Since you think ‘Terence’, I wonder if it might be Terence Alexander. He played Monty Dartie in the original 1967 Forsyte Saga who was a kind of slimy unfaithful husband and gambler. I think he was quite a young actor at the time. He definitely had a ‘smirk’!

Lance Persival? Sorry I can't spell the surname

📢PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

OP has identified TERENCE HARVEY as being the mystery actor.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 19/07/2023 09:46

Sorry, that sounds a bit rude! It was just to save anyone's time.

LowbrowVictoriana · 19/07/2023 10:57

Is it Nigel Havers?

I often wish MNHQ could/ would ( with OPs permission ) edit the first post to say 'the film/ TV star / record / singer / piece of music/ advert etc has now been identified it's. . . . .'

They could just put a big 'SOLVED' in the title, like they do on websites where people ask for help with tech problems and the solution has since been found; but a lot of people still wouldn't read it anyway.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 19/07/2023 17:26

Could it be Terence Trent D'Arby?

Jenasaurus · 19/07/2023 19:37

I've just remembered another silver fox I fancied when I was younger, It wasnt political but he was a political personality at some point in his career, but I had a huge crush on Kilroy Silk.

Didnt he change his name to Sandra?

BringMeTea · 19/07/2023 20:37

Doubt it, that would make his initials STD. Also he was more exotic than a Sandra. (no offence to Sandras intended).

@Meowandthen @PearlClutzsche lol can't say i blame you, to be fair :-)

It was Terence Harvey it seems. whoever he is, never heard of him tbh :-/

Cheers. Name doesn’t mean much to me either but he looks vaguely familiar.

@ScottBakula Couldn't you just make some sort of quantum leap and make it happen? ;-)

@Meowandthen Well at least you know and sort of recognise who it was, now. :-)

BringMeTea · 20/07/2023 07:44

@Jenasaurus ha ha. Well, I knew he was too glam for Sandra... 😇
