Did anyone get an access code today? I applied for 3 cities and for all 3 I've been put on the wait list. No codes for me 😔

Tbh I think this system has worked quite well. Particularly dividing up the concerts dates into separate on sale times. Would like to see that continue for other sales.

Yes hopefully it will lead to less crashes. A weekend would be better for me though. Lots of people will be at work and school (yes I know people work weekends too). I’ve got a busy day at work that day and 3 different times to try.

I know you will probably want to try each one, but if you're not able to do all three, would recommend the 3pm one. In my experience this week, all the 3pm ones were much quieter and therefore was far easier getting tickets. The 11am is the worst, because everyone is trying but it slowly weeds out as the day goes on

Also, those who secured tickets through the midnights pre sale, will also have applied for the general sale code too, and won't then be using. So maybe hope for those on the waitlist that way?

True for some. There will always be some who will want to go more than once where they can or provide to someone they know.

Here's hoping! Still a slim chance of getting anything, but in a better place than yesterday when I was having to deal with tears and snotters of the weans. Probably lots of us were!

VillageFete · 15/07/2023 12:19

I’m going to have to pay through the nose to a tout 😡 I can’t let DD down.

Or set a picnic and Prosecco up in Stanley Park (Behind Anfield) and listen that way! Loads did that when we were a The Eagles at Anfield last year.

TidyDancer · 15/07/2023 12:44

There's no perfect system but this has resulted in me (who lives in SE England) getting codes for Cardiff and Edinburgh but not even an email for London. So I'll end up trying for Cardiff which will take four tickets from someone who would prefer Cardiff but may have codes for London. Then nearer the time I will try to get resale tickets for London and then sell on the Cardiff tickets (if I get them). Which basically is just drama for everyone involved.

I know ticketmaster are known for being an absolute shitshow at the best of times and they massively fucked the US Taylor tickets but this has been ridiculous. Surely a four ticket maximum on each card/address/whatever would've been better.

I only registered for places I’d have gone to... so if I’d ended up with London instead of Edinburgh, I’d have gone to London.

i didn’t register for Cardiff because it’s too hard for me to get to.

So, like, not being funny, but I think that’s you that’s made it over complicated not the way they did it.

Or maybe people should have just stuck to applying for codes for their own locations, avoiding this whole potential ticket swapping mess. I think it'll be pretty impossible at this point to book hotels in Edinburgh for the relevant dates anyway so I don't envy the people attempting to travel up.

TidyDancer · 15/07/2023 13:23

No it's not me that's over complicated it at all, the system has effectively encouraged this to be the way people have to do it or risk not getting tickets at all. Which is would've happened to me had I only gone for Wembley.

I have not registered for venues I can't get to, I just would've never attempted Cardiff or Edinburgh under normal circumstances.

GellerYeller · 15/07/2023 13:29

I’ve just posted this on another thread- posting here in case it helps anyone:
Twitter now has fans saying that originally the confirmation email on registering for general sale codes/waitlist said ‘you’ll receive an email confirming your status 14/7/23’. Someone has posted an email they now have from Ticketmaster customer service saying not everyone who registered will receive that email - as demand for registration has obviously outstripped supply.
Presumably those with multiple codes that won’t now be used means the waitlist might get a better chance if some ticket allocation stays unsold.
Good luck all 💐

I’m not having a go, I get wanting to go - so just get any ticket (which is why I’d have gone to London) just saying - I don’t think the idea was to swap.

Its just that London is always going to sell out faster, so people will end up with further away tickets.

Sunday night in Edinburgh during the presale still had tickets left the next day, London was going straight out the gate.

MumGMT · 15/07/2023 14:55

Jigslaw · 15/07/2023 07:46

I have no doubt there's some shady practices, but tonnes of people did get tickets in the presale. For webley I had 40k in front of me and still got okay seats when it was my turn. Anecdotally speaking to others online and in real life that had a midnights code all got tickets, most got 4.

This is the biggest driver, but artists charging more isn't a decent way forward:

So if someone is willing to spend over $2,000 including fees for an Adele ticket” – the going price for one to her Vegas residency – “that is what it’s worth, as gross as that sounds. But if Adele doesn’t want to charge that, there is going to be a gap between the face value of the ticket and what someone can get for it, and a whole industry is going to scramble in to exploit it.

Yes some got tickets, that doesn't mean anything.
The company are still very shady and take advantage of customers and also help others who do to do so.

This is not just in reference to Taylor. During the week I bought tickets for another event, they had several different prices for standing in a venue where there is only one standing area. Some of the tickets were 60% more for the same section.

Seemed to be luck of the draw which people got...most got offered the expensive ones, they sold them and released cheaper ones the next day (after the 24 refund period was over). It's ridiculous. I was clicking on ones that were less than 100 and it would take me through to checkout and the ticket would switch to one for 160.

euff · 15/07/2023 15:12

I got general standing for 110 each. I think some of the VIP were also general standing but with merch and early entry so you get closer.

The VIP tickets are awful - it’s not separate areas or better seats or anything, literally just bog standard tickets with a bag and some posters and stuff... for like £600 😳

euff · 15/07/2023 15:31

@tabulahrasa I think someone else on these threads said they had the VIP and it was the most expensive tote bag they had purchased for their DD!

My general standing were £170 each! How did you manage that?

I hope so, the 11am is a Thursday which is the one I least want as it will mean 2 days off work. It feels a risk to not try, though I don’t want/can’t afford to buy the Thursday as a backup.

I’m pretty sure different venues had different prices... but, are you sure they’re general because from memory that’s about the price the front standing was.

fancreek · 15/07/2023 16:00

Ah yes you're right @tabulahrasa I didn't realise there were two types of standing. A friend got the tickets. Thanks!

Whattheactualwhatnow · 15/07/2023 16:08

Just to say I’ve just had an email through (wait list not code) so they are still coming out despite the deadline being midnight yesterday.

swifterama · 15/07/2023 16:17

We spent a LOT of money on the VIP tickets last week and I know they are a rip off but nothing else was available- I didn't get into the sale until nearly an hour in. I contemplated trying another date later in the week instead but we decided just to go for it as the date/venue was also the best. NO travel/hotels etc needed.
I'm very glad we did- none of us got codes yesterday and the cheapest resale tickets are in the gods and similar price to what we paid for level 1 so we wouldn't have been able to get anything cheaper anyway. Wembley hospitality would also have been more.
DD is a MASSIVE fan and we have the money- unlikely to ever do it again but it's done now! Hope I can offload mine and DH's merch on ebay!

swifterama · 15/07/2023 16:18

and I also got another Waitlist email about 5 mins ago!

I wasn’t criticising people for buying them btw, just what they included for the price.

If they’re charging the prices they do it should at least be right up the front and have better perks than just some fairly rubbish merch..

I’d have gone for VIP if I couldn’t get anything else too, but it’s still rubbish what you get, IMO anyway.

swifterama · 15/07/2023 16:26

@tabulahrasa - sorry, I know you weren't criticising me! I agree with you!
Our tickets are very close though and DD happy so all good!

I have codes and was contemplating just going to try straight for the VIP packages as I thought they'll maybe be in less demand!
