Things that should be easy but are actually so bloody difficult!!

I'll kick it off with:-

Putting your bra on after a shower - I always put it on back to front and twist it round the right way. I need to apply WD40 to my back and chest as it just won't twist!!

Getting the damned duvet into the damned duvet cover!! Makes me 🤬 every time!!

Egg peeling: if the eggs are new then they are really difficult to peel, wait til they’re about a week old before you use them for boiled eggs.

Changing on the beach - get a dry robe or get someone to hold a towel around you, or sew two beach towels together down the long sides, affix elastic around one short end and then you can pop it over your head and change beneath it.

bras - I never mastered doing up a bra behind me and always do it up in front and twist it around - so the doing it up over your knickers and twisting it around is really useful. I have tried to do up behind me, but never managed it and now I have a dodgy shoulder on one side I never will manage it

I can't bear putting duvet covers on, it was always a DH job until I bought coverless duvets for us all (the Night Owl variety linked above.) Problem solved and had also helped with DD's allergies as the whole thing gets washed weekly.

It's so difficult to stop bad habits. I bit my nails until I was over 50. Felt so pleased with myself until I realised that I'd just replaced one bad, ugly habit with another.....😢

How did you stop(bitter nail polish?), and what did you replace it with?

@ThatFraggle It sort of just happened, though a few weeks before I stopped biting my nails, every time I found myself doing it, I told myself "Stop it. You don't bite your nails any more." Now I pull my cuticles, and the'Just stop it' approach isn't working.

I can identify with so many of these posts!!
The panty liner one in particular stands out!! Yup...been there....too far forward, too far back, stuck to bits you don't want them stuck to!! Numerous times I've got through loads in one attempt to get it just right!! Pant gussets are no guide....I might be made wrong but my lady bits don't align very well with the gussets in my undies!! 😳!!
I'm so glad this thread hasn't only been an opportunity to vent....it's also offered up some very helpful, genius solutions too! 🙂

This morning I tried the doing up my bra around my pants trick. I'm hour glass, and not overly hippy- but there was no way I could get the strap of the bra around my hips!

Surely if its wide enough to go around your hips, then it will be very loose when pulled up around your chest? 🤔

I assumed that the hooks at the back of bras are a continuation from the times of corsetry was all done up at the back- where you had someone (staff) to help your dress. My mum showed me to clip at the front and twist around, then put the shoulder straps on. It never occurred to me that people clip it all up at the back! I'm fairly flexible- but some people can't reach. When I have tried- I might get 1 hook on- but when I try for another- the original one pings off! Front, clip and twist for me. There should be more front hooked bras though.

I think the thing with front hooked bras is you can't expand the back as you get fatter so back hooks with multiple options are preferred.

You could have bras with back and front hooks. Front ones for putting it on and taking it off, and trickier, more secure back ones that you can adjust to your preferred size at your leeeezhure.

You could even buy them by the half-bra and mix and match cup sizes, for those of us with variety boobs. Or do black on one side, white on the other, for that authentic Star Trek The Original Series Heavy-Handed Racism Allegory vibe.

Making kids do what you say? Give them a reasonable choice. "I tell you once. I tell you twice. The third time you will have a smack on your bottom." They can choose....
