Mine (10 year old boy) seems to have very small feet. He's a 13.

Everyone else I speak to - which granted isn't that many as it's a weird question to ask - have children with much bigger feet.

Just wanted a quick straw poll.

Gosh that is tiny!

My DD in year 3, normal height and very slender…. 2.5

Idk I was a children's 13 until year 8! Didn't get to my full adult size (4) until I was 15.

DD is in Y1 and a size 13, which doesn't seem a lot different from her friends.

This suggests that the average 10 year old is 3.5-4: www.blitzresults.com/gb/childrens-shoe-size-age/

10 year old ss is size 5

My 6 yo has size 1.5 feet, I'm a 4...

mamaison · 26/06/2023 20:46

Mine is a size 7.5/41

Really hard and expensive to find good flexible school shoes for a large clumsy child who needs supportive footwear.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 26/06/2023 20:50

My year four daughter is a size twelve but is under a consultant due to her small stature and physical muscle tone.

My ds is 6 and in year 1, he is currently a 13.5 but they're getting a bit snug!

OutsidInInsideOut · 26/06/2023 21:13

My DS is year 8 and just reached this height and shoe size!

@Crunchymum I'm pretty sure my DS would have been a similar size to yours at age 10. He started secondary school in size 1 or 1.5 shoes (age nearly 12) . He's 13.5 now and has grown 3 shoe sizes in the last 6 months.

This is all to do DH (6ft 2 and size 13 feet!) 😀 Where as I'm the other end if the scale (5ft and size 4 feet) The teenage years feel expensive food and clothing wise and we're not even there yet!

Parkermumma07 · 26/06/2023 21:19

I could have written this my DS is Y4 and size 13 he’s always been small but others in his class are of a similar height but all seem to have bigger feet, I’m only a size 4 as an adult so guess he might get it from me :)

Janella · 27/06/2023 14:00

Year 5, size 5 shoe (euro 38). He's catching me up and not yet 10 years old!

MrsCharlieD · 30/07/2023 10:16

DS just turned 9 and is a size 7! He's very tall for his age, at 7 he was over 1.4m and was big enough for the big rollercoasters at Alton towers, not measured him in a while but he must be 5ft.

captncrunch · 30/07/2023 10:24

That does seem very small. My 5 yo DS going into year one is a size 13. My year 3 DD is a 1.

Having said that, there is huge variability in terms of adult shoe sizes if you think about it? My DH is 6"3 and has size 9 feet.... And my 5 foot mum is a size 8! So I wouldn't worry unless he isn't growing generally.
