Films that still scare you

What are the films that still give you the absolute heebies, to the point that actually affect your life in some way?

For me:

American Werewolf in London - you will not catch me walking alone at night in quiet locations
Evil Dead: I flat-out refused to get a cabin in a remote location for a break with DH
The Conjuring: Every time I put sheets on the line I feel my heart start to race thinking of that one scene.....
Terminator 2 - the nuclear bomb scene. We have a similar view of London from our local playground and I have to not look otherwise I imagine it hitting and get upset.

I dont even like hearing 'Thriller' - I hate zombies. I feel mildly better about films like 28 days later, knowing that in reality as soon as the ankle tendons have rotted, they wont be able to run after you anymore......

The Descent still bothers me years after watching it.

Ooooh thats such a great scary film! Luckily I have absolutely no desire to wander about a cave.....

Silence of the Lambs & Cape Fear - can't deal with psychopaths, particularly cannibal ones! Terrifying.

@Seasonofthewitch83 I watched it during my mining engineering degree. We were underground every day at that point. I was absolutely shitting it after that film 🤣

Se7en. It’s so cruel. The poor man who was forced to eat himself to death.

I used to watch horror movies all the time and loved them. Until I watched 'They' (I think it was called). It's about monsters that live in the dark - I had to sleep with the light on for days and for some reason I now hate watching horror moves

I often have nightmares related to Event Horizon.

The Exorcist terrifies me still.

Made worse by my relapsed catholic dad saying it was scary because it could be true.....

Can't even hear the soundtrack from it !

SO SCARY as it could be real

The Exorcist sort of scared me but I knew it wasn’t probably real of exaggerated. I still get slightly freaked out if I randomly hear Tubular Bells though.

It with the clown, I’m not scared of clowns but that scared me and made me jump and I can deal with blood and gore but not jumpy films. The worst are those based on true stories… I’d really rather not know.

YES! I watched it once and that was enough for me!

This was the only film that immediately came to mind. Horrendous viewing.

Human Centipede & Se7en

It's the pure torture of it all for me, imagining just what it must really be like to endure something like that ... anything else I'm totally fine with (Zombie films, Slasher movies, Paranormal type)

Even tiny spiders make my skin crawl and I expect them to jump especially in the shower 😁

Can’t remember name of film, but there was a person trapped under a frozen lake. Couldn’t watch the whole film.

The child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Creepy.

I had really intrusive thoughts regarding human centipede which are too disturbing to share. The actual film was terrible but the concept? Argh.

Even the image on IMDB creeps me out!
