This week.

We have chicken ramen tonight using leftover roast chicken from Sunday.

After that I am out of ideas. And need to meal plan as have some big expenses coming up and can't afford to push the fuck it button and order in Dominoes. :)

TIA

Roast pork with crackling and apple sauce here today. We haven't had a roast for a couple of weeks as the weather has been so warm,so I am looking forward to it.

First day in a few that house isn’t overrun with older teen DC and friends. One has even gone on hols so we are reverting to when he’s at uni for the week and cutting out the meat.

Did a BBQ for 4 lads Friday - 6 x sausages, 6 x burgers, 2 x packs of beef koftes, 2 x packs of pork kebabs, 1 x pack of chicken steaks- nearly all went. Plus mountains of homemade coleslaw, green salad, tomatoes, flatbreads, buns etc. And they are all rakes.

DD and friends had the good grace to get a takeaway last night. 😂 So DH and I had prawn kebabs and salad.

This week will be mainly salmon plus veggie. Might do a chicken stir fry at the end of the week. Some homemade pizzas, and going to try cheesy baked broccoli fritters at DDs request.

Pasta night tonight so I am making pesto pasta with a side salad and garlic bread. The wonderful thing is I do not have to spend a penny as it is all store cupboard and fridge food!

We’re having chicky sticken tonight. It’s a favourite. Just chicken thighs rubbed with hoisin, honey and Chinese 5 spice. We’ll probably have it with some wild rice, steamed broccoli and a squeeze of lime.

other delights to come this week:
duck in plum sauce (I typed “dick” first time and somehow my phone didn’t feel the need to autocorrect)
gammon, egg & chips
a curry cooked by my dad (the highlight of the week)
and some kind of prawny/garlicky/sun dried tomatoey linguine

Equatorcreator · 03/07/2023 10:55

Dick in plum sauce sounds quite fruity for a Monday 😂

😂Can't believe duck was corrected to dick!

ODFOx · 03/07/2023 13:21

Tonight we're having bunless burgers with toppings, wedges and green beans.

Serenity45 · 03/07/2023 13:34

Tonight we're having scrambled egg on tiger bread chunky toast (bread needs using up and we don't have a working freezer atm), fruit salad with yoghurt for dessert
Tomorrow slow cooker pulled BBQ pork with curly fries / grated cheese / coleslaw
Out Wednesday and Thursday and whatever we can scavenge from fridge / cupboards on Friday

RiseYpres · 03/07/2023 17:20

I've slightly changed my plan. We have salmon fillets in the freezer I had forgotten about so it is salmon fillets with pasta pesto as a side dish along with a green salad.

I am more enthusiastic about this now than a big plate of pasta.

We are having garlic prawn alfredo bake tonight served with garlic bread and a bit of salad.

RiseYpres · 05/07/2023 17:22

Today is 'soup' night so we are having cream of broccoli and pea soup and with a salad sandwich on the side.

We had chili con carne with rice and garlic bread last night, salmon fillets (from Costco, so the size of baby whales!) with new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and baby sweetcorn all done in the steamer, and tomorrow we're having chicken and bacon orzo (but only because I've not told my husband that orzo is a type of pasta, as he doesn't like pasta 🙄)

After finishing work tonight, my son then has a four day weekend, so he will be producing at least two meals but no indication yet as to what they might be
