But why are the Mail printing an article with no facts and no proof?

Are you saying the Daily Mail [spit] have made these resources up?

Catsanfan · 20/06/2023 16:47

I mean, if I was telling my children to go and masturbate and showing them graphic pictures of it, that would be considered abuse

They aren't made up but they are not for year 5 kids. They are for older teenagers. The text and language used is aimed to much older children.

ManyATrueWord · 20/06/2023 16:49

Look at the Transgender Trend website if you want to see what is going on.

There have been instances where people have read out resources given to school kids across the western world, for example in school board meetings, and on the air, and the broadcasters have had to stop broadcasting because they are not allowed to broadcast that to adult audiences.

From books and resources in schools. For actual kids.

If you have kids in schools in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, it might be worth investigating rather than just glazing over and saying 'Aah, it's the Daily Mail'...maybe?

ChickenRat · 20/06/2023 16:51

I actually went to one of the schools mentioned in the article and I would say the sex education I received was good, it was all handled sensitively and it was age appropriate

It seems things have changed a lot in the 15 years since I left primary school!

No, but there is no proof that they are used the way they say they are.

QueenVerilas · 20/06/2023 16:52

AlisonDonut · 20/06/2023 16:38

Yes I know.

It was sarcasm.

How on earth did you expect that to be known from your post?!

Notellinganyone · 20/06/2023 17:00

Boomboxinmyattic · 20/06/2023 15:17

Why are you allowing yourself to be taken in by the Daily Mail's idiot-bait? They are literally making up this shite to get you riled up.

Absolutely this.

whatthefreshhell · 20/06/2023 17:00

Catsanfan · 20/06/2023 16:45

I know masturbation is normal but children should not be set trying it for homework or shown graphic pictures of it, IMO that's borderline sexual abuse

But they aren’t.
and letting children explore their own bodies isn’t abuse.

Catsanfan · 20/06/2023 17:05

@whatthefreshhell Telling them what it is, fine. Telling them to do it and and showing them pictures of a boy ejaculating is bloody grim and practically grooming

Its still not accurate though, is it? 'Zoe' very clearly will be either a boy or a girl. Social trends should be taught to children as a phenomena existing as a social trend. Not as facts. It is simply untrue to say Zoe is neither a boy nor a girl. And its potentially harmful to tell children that Zoe is neither, for a whole host of reasons, including 'non-binary' girls seeking, and obtaining, double masectomies, as well as girls who have serious other issues and latch onto being non-binary as the answer, which can mean the actual underlying cause for their distress is never addressed.

Children don't need schools permission to 'let' them do this, do they?

MyMagicStars · 20/06/2023 17:09

One of my DC went to uni with the journalist; apparently slimy and known to be unpleasant.

DomPom47 · 20/06/2023 17:19

I have a large family and many nieces/nephews m/cousins in primary and secondary school and they have not been taught anything like this.

This is not to say this is not taught but I don’t think it is taught to the level that the Daily Fail is sensationalising. There’s a wide number of resources available it does not mean schools are using these resources.

Also parents are well within their rights to call schools and speak to the Head/PSHE/RSE leads and ask questions.

jojo2202 · 20/06/2023 17:21

@QueenVerilas agree with you

Boomboxinmyattic · 20/06/2023 17:22

This is clickbait for morons.

Catsanfan · 20/06/2023 17:27

@Boomboxinmyattic Bit unfair. The resources must exist or the DM's article would be slander

OP posts:
AlisonDonut · 20/06/2023 17:28

This is fascinating. Do keep it up.

It's like the narcissists prayer.

It isn't happening
If it was my nieces/nephews/cousins would be all over it
If they werent all over it, it is the Daily Mail Clickbait
If it isn't the Daily Mail clickbait, the journalist is unpleasant and slimy
If it isn't the unpleasant and slimy journalist, it's just for morons.
If it isn't for morons, it's fine to show kids how to masturbate and give them masturbation homework, it's all natural.

It's no wonder these people can get this shit in schools without anyone noticing.

Have you met the Daily Mail? 😅😅😅

Boomboxinmyattic · 20/06/2023 17:30

... also, have you met libel (not slander) laws?

Catsanfan · 20/06/2023 17:30

Wouldn't they be sued though?

Boomboxinmyattic · 20/06/2023 17:31

The DM is a shite rag whose sole purpose is to get morons riled up about utter crap.
