Just seen this article and had to share - I can't believe the hateful language used by the author:

'High profile people, who I consider transphobic, like some politicians and former role models – who aren’t even worthy of the term ‘TERF’ (meaning trans exclusionary radical feminist) as it has ‘feminist’ in the name, and that they most certainly are not – have made it their mission to stoke a panic over trans people'.

I have no issue with trans women using the loos I'm in - you shouldn't either

Today, I'm sick and frustrated of the obsessive, hateful loud siren voices who act as if they're speaking for all cis women.

Good for you.

Perhaps then you could campaign for additional unisex spaces and use them out of solidarity with trans people.

Well the country I live in rarely has single sex toilets in workplaces bars and restaurants so it's already done ...

Why are all these anti trans threads appearing everywhere all over the board ...can't they stick to the feminism boards. Which I have hidden because of this

It's not anti trans to believe women should be allowed to have single sex spaces and words for themselves which do not include male people.

Maddy70 · 21/06/2023 14:53

Florissante · 21/06/2023 14:52

Because this is an issue that affects women. Not just feminists.

It isn't affecting all women. Just the minority of women who object and are very vocal

If you don't want to read about issues affecting women as a class on a female dominated forum, that's your problem.

We don't issue death threats or beat people up when they disagree with us.

You think only the women vocally speaking up about this hate sharing toilets with men?

Maddy. If you go on Twitter and start suggesting additional unisex spaces as a solution for trans people you will get hundreds of trans women telling you that doesn't work for them because it's "othering" and that they will continue to use women's spaces, with women, because they are women.

They don't care about women not wanting to be in those spaces with them because we are just support humans to them.

This is very true.

PSNonsense · 21/06/2023 15:27

It isn't a problem. We are all humans that piss and shit. They are separate cubicles. Noone is in danger

Tell that to Katie Delatowski's victim.

Women have the right to use a bathroom without the presence of a penised male. Danger or not.

Snowtrails · 21/06/2023 15:41

So why can't the people with penises all use the same toilets then? And those with vaginas can use toilets in a different room.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 21/06/2023 15:49

What you feel doesn't matter, unless you are personally affected and have negative effect in your life, that's my opinion.

//

Well as a female and mum to a female, I am not happy at the idea of men who feel like women being in my space. Hat has an effect on me.

Therefore by this reasoning what a transwoman feels doesn't matter either

Or is this courtesy a one way only thing?

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 21/06/2023 15:51

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 20/06/2023 21:22

You don't care about where I feel most comfortable.

Honestly, I give up. Keep fighting whatever you think is right. World is changing. We all deserve respect and understanding. That means you do deserve to feel comfortable, so are trans people, imo. That's all.

They should campaign for third spaces then and if born with a penis stay the hell out of my space

It invariably is a one way thing, yes.

Firstly, It's not "anti-trans" to recognise female people exist and sometimes have needs that are separate from those of male people.

Secondly, the utter irony of you complaining that people you don't think should be allowed in your space are coming in anyway!

So you want no male and female spaces? Just all free for all? No male/female prisons, hospital wards etc.?

SabrinaThwaite · 21/06/2023 20:29

forgotmyusername1 · 21/06/2023 09:11

Absolutely but it was never an issue as we didn't know about it.

Now they have scored a massive own goal by making it such a massive thing

I think we did always know about it, but in public these people were few and far between and women were (at best) tolerant.

But now certain types of older males have been emboldened to take their fetishes out into public for the extra thrills. Add in the younger aggressive TRAs (always males) who just seem to enjoy trampling over women and demanding access to what has previously been reserved exclusively for females and it’s an utter shit show for women.

What about trans women who no longer have a penis? I worked with a trans woman who had surgery. It would have been cruel and inhumane to deny her the use of women’s loos.

In that case I think medical grounds would mean they could use an accessible toilet. I expect their urethra was pretty messed up . Even with surgery a trans woman is a man.

I think it is cruel and inhumane to deny women the use of womens loos by letting male people in. Women who can't share with male people, for whatever reason. Where do they go? They don't have an alternative because the only other facility is the mens. Whereas the transwoman does have an alternative: the mens. They just don't want to use them.

And guess what: there are more women you are denying toilets to than there are transwomen who have had surgery as that number is miniscule and shrinking. So based on numbers, women toilets should stay single sex and transwomen can use the mens.

viques · 21/06/2023 23:08

Jesus wept 🙄

Its the truth though, isn’t it? I really don’t give a toss how people dress, or what they call themselves, and I do feel sorry for people who genuinely suffer from body dysphoria. But I refuse to allow my legal and moral rights as a woman to be trounced by anyone who gets their sexual kicks by dressing in womens clothes, demands that other people validate their feelings by denying other peoples biology, demands that language is erased and altered so much that it becomes meaningless, supports sexualising, drugging and mutilating children, and thinks that denying the evidence of biology is sufficient to justify their fantasy.

I feel sorry for your colleague, but that does not mean that I accept their intrusion into the places where women should have the right to know are single sex.

Jesus wept 🙄

I'm pretty sure that Jesus knew the difference between men and women and his tears would have been of frustration at those who don't.
