Tell me the truth - cake

So, I’ve literally spent all day baking this cake for my son’s birthday. He wanted a Miles Morales Spider-Man themed cake, featuring the Spot.

I’ve been battling indoor temperatures of 27.5 degrees and finding it stressful. I’m going to refrigerate it and tidy up some of the icing tomorrow morning…but, response from DH was ‘it’s fine!’. Am I wrong to feel upset. It’s not perfect, but my back is killing, it cost a fortune and I’m shattered. He’s backtracking now, but it’s too late. P’d off now and looking for something a bit more constructive or even some finishing advice.

The cake is fab! I don't think most people understand how much time and effort it takes to make and decorate a cake, unless you've tried yourself, and how hard it is to make it look good. That is a great effort!
