Ah, are we back to if you only break the law for 20minutes it doesn't count.

Well, that's an excellent concept. Let's see if it's true - tonight I'm going to go out (probably late so the roads are quiet) and do 120 mph on the A14 for 20 minutes. And when I get pulled over/photographed, I'm going to use the 'but it was only 20 minutes so it doesn't count' argument and see how far it gets me.

Durham police investigated, and found no laws broken

Yes, we know - but that still doesn't explain why Keir Starmer told a string of lies about his evening in Durham. I thought Starmer was supposed to have a 'forensic eye for detail'?

I think you are being somewhat optimistic expecting a £50 fixed penalty notice.

Have you formed an opinion yet on a PM misleading Parliament?

'why did the Prime Minister make birthday parties illegal and yet have his own?'

He was at work. No party occurred. Some over enthusiastic plods issued fpns. The end.

It was all a dream.

Just 9% of all electors, and only 20% even of those who voted for it, think Brexit is a success. By comparison, a 2019 survey found that 16% of the UK adult population believe that the moon landing was staged.

The thing is, there are rational reasons for staging a Moon landing. International one-upmanship, cheaper than the real thing, less risky and so on.
There were no good reasons for Brexit. It was always going to be a hugely expensive shitshow, and make the UK look stupid.
If the Moon landings were staged, at least they had the effect of making the USA look good.

Precisely my point. It doesn't matter how long you break the law for. You broke it. Spending 12 or many more minutes at a gathering that was unlawful = breaking the law. See also: Boris Johnson.

What? that is just a list of debauchery isn't it. He stayed at the zoom Xmas quiz for 12 mins! how very dare he my dc didn't get birthday presents for 3 years thanks to him.

Are there other crimes that don't count if one commits them for 12 minutes.

Could one for example beat ones wife for 12 minutes and that would be fine?
(asking for a father not a lord).

Rhondaa · 13/06/2023 19:41

Please refer to my previous post at 15.06 and keep rereading everytime you feel the need to ask it yet again.

So you don't have an answer, that is fine, why didn't you just say months ago that you don't think Boris should be held to the same standards in law as everyone else @Janiie ?

As I said before, it is a general question on a PM, any PM, misleading Parliament.

But if you need more time, we wait for the report.

Well I am tempted to go out and murder someone for 20 minutes and see what the police say to my defence.

You misunderstood my point - Boris Johnson received a £50 fixed penalty notice - I think you will be in much more trouble than that.

Sad limpet? That's a bit rude isn't it.

Of course I will be 'gripping onto his defence'. I wasn't convinced by 'impartial' Sue Grey's report nor I'm sure will I be anymore more convinced by what impartial Harman presents.

How about the impartial Tory majority on the Privileges Committee?

F’kin hell.

Fine, for the purposes of you being able to reconcile events and move on with your life, let’s agree Kier lied too

Where does that leave you? Agreeing that Boris is facing what he should and that Kier should too or that they should both be let off because of …(fill in your own blank)?

Do you really think Boris Johnson needs to be protected from us Ladies?

'Sir Bernard Jenkin'

Sir Bernard Jenkin. What him of the cringy tassly bracelet who was at one of Johnson's previous grilling being all snooty and sniffy. Oh yes, he's a big impartial fan isn't he.

Ah, I get it. This committee will only be impartial in your eyes if it is composed of enthusiastic Johnson supporters. Ri-i-ight.

Kiwano · 13/06/2023 20:31

Rhondaa · 13/06/2023 18:17

It's hard not to sometimes. The fact remains the whole thing has been constant whipped up smears led by the media and critics.

He has done nothing wrong. Except the gold wallpaper and trusting Cummings.

So there was nothing wrong with reappointing a known sex molester to a position of power over junior MPs and party members then? Or sending out other ministers to lie about it?

I'd love to know how you justify that one.

I'm not unhappy to have a PM who has received a £50 fixed penalty notice.

A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) isn't a criminal offence.

Josephine's letter is dated 21st March 2020. Children could have birthday parties on the 19th June 2020, albeit outside

Thanks for confirming that your post is entirely irrelevant given Johnson's indoor non-essential gathering, @Clavinova

Is Johnson really so slow of thinking that he was incapable of stopping at the door, saying "Sorry, chaps, this is illegal, thanks all the same but let's do it within the rules" and turning on his heel and walking away?
