How does thunder and lightning make you feel? ⚡

Because it makes me feel... I don't know... morbid. Like I can feel a creepy atmosphere. I pay more attention to the sky, think about all the great unknown out there and the world just seems so overwhelming. I get very deep during a storm!

I haven't really thought about it tbh.
But i do love a good storm.
We were due storms today and didn't happen :(

RunningFromInsanity · 11/06/2023 19:55

I love it. I love watching the lightning flash across the sky.
If I can’t sleep I often play thunder and rainstorm noises.

MintJulia · 11/06/2023 19:56

I love it. The brooding humidity and then the storm. Fab.

I was sweating in a gym when this evening's storm broke so I went out and walked across the carpark in the rain. It felt lovely. 🙂

Jinglybangly · 11/06/2023 19:57

I love it. I feel electric and tingly. I love the anticipation of waiting for the next flash, then counting until the thunder.

TheSnowyOwl · 11/06/2023 19:58

I love it!

gdjb · 11/06/2023 19:58

LOVE it, not sure why exactly, love the dramatic atmosphere.

LollipopViolet · 11/06/2023 20:00

Scared - I am an anxious person anyway and storms bring it out. I keep thinking the house will be hit. I know it's irrational but can't shake it. Got thunder rumbling away at the minute and I'm not loving life!

RichardMarxisinnocent · 11/06/2023 20:02

Absolutely fucking terrified.

Googlecotseolk · 11/06/2023 20:03

I absolutely love it! Makes me feel electric with excitement 😊

declutteringmymind · 11/06/2023 20:03

I love the drama of the theatre of the sky. It's like the gods are duelling.

Me too running, I love those audios. I play them almost every night.
Thunder and lightning makes me feel truly alive.

NeverThatSerious · 11/06/2023 20:05

The same as you I think OP. Not scared, just unsettled.

stbrandonsboat · 11/06/2023 20:08

Excited and happy 😊

MeinKraft · 11/06/2023 20:10

Oh I love it. It's a primal feeling of danger whilst knowing you're not really in danger. Like watching a scary film, same kind of thrill.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/06/2023 20:11

I used to be absolutely terrified.
Now I can watch it but it gives me a sort of "end of the world" feel.

Moonflower12 · 11/06/2023 20:11

We are right under an enormous storm right now.

There are huge rolling, dark thunderclouds, very heavy, sharp rain and great claps of thunder.

I love the drama of it all. We live on the top of a hill, in the middle of bleeding nowhere, next to a wood.

Last year we got struck by lightning. Luckily the Victorian architects had fitted a conductor. It was still quite a shock though. It knocked out our internet and our electricity.

Our lights have been off and on tonight a couple of times.

17CherryTreeLane · 11/06/2023 20:12

I love it when it's happening. Before the storms breaks though, I usually get a really bad headache. Maybe to do with the pressure or something, not sure.

beeonmybonnett · 11/06/2023 20:13

I totally love thunder and lightning. Love it in the night sky when the rain is pouring.

It feels so refreshing and exciting. Anyone else?

whatausername · 11/06/2023 20:14

I turn off the lights, open the curtains and lay down and enjoy it. Well, I say lay down but I do get up for several peroids just to watch everything lighting up.

Me too!

CurlewKate · 11/06/2023 20:16

I'm looking forward to the storm predicted here. I find them exciting and this will be the first time for 20 years I haven't had either a child or a dog that'a terrified....

Deadringer · 11/06/2023 20:17

It makes the atmosphere feel very oppressive to me, especially the thunder, I sort of feel like there is a weight on my chest, and I feel a quite stressed. I feel a bit like that during very wild, very windy weather too.

keyboardkat · 11/06/2023 20:18

I don't mind it much as long as I am indoors.

I know before the lightning strikes that it will happen, every time, since I get a tingling on the top of my head and I KNOW..... and sure enough it flashes seconds later.

Splcam · 11/06/2023 20:18

As someone else said, thrilled and scared all at the same time like watching a horror film.

Just had a big storm here. Fork lightning and loud thunderclaps.

But the best bit of it is now - petrichor!

alabastercodefier · 11/06/2023 20:20

I love them, and yesterday stood in the rain for a while, enjoying the smell of petrichor and feeling thrilled at the thunder and lightening.
