How does thunder and lightning make you feel? ⚡

Because it makes me feel... I don't know... morbid. Like I can feel a creepy atmosphere. I pay more attention to the sky, think about all the great unknown out there and the world just seems so overwhelming. I get very deep during a storm!

I love thunder and lightening especially when I’m tucked up in bed, feeling safe and cosy.

poppym12 · 11/06/2023 20:22

I usually get a banger of a headache before a storm (or any air pressure change) so when a storm starts and the air starts to clear I usually feel relieved. I do like watching a good storm but the migraine wipes me out.

Exhilarated.

BobBobBobbing · 11/06/2023 20:24

Exhilarated! One of my earliest memories was sitting in front of my open bed room window while a storm raged outside. We lived on a hill and I could see the storm moving across the plain below.

I love the smell of the rain, the electricity in the air and the way the atmosphere changes.

Beaverbridge · 11/06/2023 20:25

I love it. Sun still splitting the trees in Central Scotland.

bruffin · 11/06/2023 20:25

I used to get awful headaches before a storm, as a child they would terrified me.

Exhilarated

Wednesdaysotherchild · 11/06/2023 20:27

Thrilled, and like I want to run out and dance in the rain!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/06/2023 20:27

Also we have blue/white cloud skies and sun pouring through the windows right now. NE Scotland. It's a beautiful evening

shakeitoffsis · 11/06/2023 20:27

Absolutely love it. Currently impatiently waiting for some so I can stand in the rain.

Discretionassured · 11/06/2023 20:28

Erm, suffice to say we're in the middle of a massive storm here and I'm eyeing DH like he's my secret chocolate stash and wondering if DC would notice if we disappeared for a bit Blush Sorry but you did ask!

I love it. I love watching the lightning flash across the sky.
If I can’t sleep I often play thunder and rainstorm noises.

This.

Cas112 · 11/06/2023 20:33

I LOVE it

cptartapp · 11/06/2023 20:34

My dad used to tell me as a child that the thunder was Father Christmas moving his furniture. I still remember that whenever there's a good old storm.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 11/06/2023 20:35

Ooooh I love it. I like standing out in it getting drenched with my face to the sky whilst I feel the thunder in my chest. It’s better than any drug.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/06/2023 20:37

Alive!

reddingweddy · 11/06/2023 20:40

I love it! We had an absolute zinger of a storm a few years back, lasted all night and kept us all up - we just gave up trying to sleep and watched in awe!

On a more serious note though, and I'm sure you all know this already but if there's a thunderstorm happening near you, please unplug your internet router. (Ex BT engineer here. If a telegraph pole near you gets hit by lightning it'll fry your router. Unless you're on full fibre that is.)

Bananabedhead · 11/06/2023 20:45

Love it, the eagerly awaited storm has just started. My middle child has been weather watching all day waiting for it.

BuffyWillow · 11/06/2023 20:47

Makes me nostalgic, I used to sit and watch thunderstorms with my Nana as a child and I love to do the same with my daughter. The dog on the other hand doesn't enjoy them so they are a tad stressful now we have him.

MyMachineAndMe · 11/06/2023 20:57

I love it, especially when I'm in the house and feel all safe and cosy. I listen to thunderstorm noises when I'm in bed sleeping.

Redglitter · 11/06/2023 20:59

I love a good storm. There was talk of thunder last night but it came to nothing. I was gutted

mondaytosunday · 11/06/2023 20:59

Love it!
My mother would hide in the basement though.

dudsville · 11/06/2023 21:00

I love them and if I'm home they make me feel cozy, but a friend once had hers and several of her neighbours get hit by lightening and it was really dramatic.

cakeorwine · 11/06/2023 21:01

Very very frightening
