How does thunder and lightning make you feel? ⚡

Because it makes me feel... I don't know... morbid. Like I can feel a creepy atmosphere. I pay more attention to the sky, think about all the great unknown out there and the world just seems so overwhelming. I get very deep during a storm!

I love a decent thunderstorm but as rare as hens teeth in these parts, but when I lived in Cambridge, wow we had some belters!

Love a good storm, DS has asd and any mention of storm and he’s tracking it all way, he’d chase tornadoes if I let him. I don’t find it creepy, but I’m a fan of horror movies etc where it would be used as indication of something morbid happening.

I used to love it but a little boy I know was killed by lightning two years ago and now it just makes me think of him Sad

Love the power of nature

Puts me as one small human right in my place

Love a storm. Actually anything to do with sky, day or night. True majesty.

I feel like this about the ocean. When I go to the beach it blows my mind how vast and powerful and terrifying the ocean is.

I love it. I love watching the lightning flash across the sky.
If I can’t sleep I often play thunder and rainstorm noises.

Me too.

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 11/06/2023 22:56

Love them. Especially right in a storm with thunder and lightning at the same time.

Have memories of an amazing storm with my teenage mates, watching from an underpass we went to for safety (we'd been on a park hill when it suddenly hit). Stunning.

Less fond memories of camping in one and a tree in the next field was hit and caught fire. I never camp under trees.

Another fan here.
Last night we left the patio doors open and sat and watched the storm, nature at its finest!
I was at the doors feeling like lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump when they're on the boat 😂

Most it makes me feel generally is grateful I’m not driving! Otherwise, nothing much more than “hope the power doesn’t go out” or in summer “thank goodness it’s raining at last,” except the one time when I lived in Queensland and saw an almighty bolt hit a fence post a few yards away. That was alarming and impressive!

I asked my GP to refer me for a consultation to the Bristol Homeopathic Hospital, for my hypertension, because I didn't fancy beta blockers. It was either the only NHS homeopathic hospital in the country or one of very few. The nice woman doctor said she needed to ask me quite a few questions to get a good idea of what treatment might work. One question was 'How do you feel just before a thunderstorm?' I said 'Excited'. She said that was a really important question, and my answer helped her a lot. She prescribed me a treatment and my blood pressure dropped so low I had to reduce the dose. They stopped offering homeopathic therapies in 2015

This is really interesting as I feel the same way as you do! Can you elaborate in terms of the significance of this and how it influenced your treatment?

Sorry, the homeopathic doctor only said it was 'important'; she did not say why or how.

Catspyjamasfit · 12/06/2023 08:23

I remember being asked the same by a homeopath. It’s a standard question.

BumpyaDaisyevna · 12/06/2023 08:23

Manic and excited!

I totally love thunder and lightning. Love it in the night sky when the rain is pouring.

It feels so refreshing and exciting. Anyone else?

Me. Love a good storm and the sound of the pouring rain. I was hangin out of the window yesterday getting wet and enjoying the freshness.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 12/06/2023 09:56

I love it - had a thunderstorm and a really good downpour yesterday. The garden is very happy.
