I love this idea and Rita is a great name and old fashioned.

If you're anything like me and call your pets cute variations of their names, then she can be Rita Petita too, which is appropriate if she's a chihuahua (petita being Spanish form of petite). My dog is Luna but she gets called Loonie Tunes amongst other things.
