£19.50 for. Cocktail. DH has paid more for a large posh wine or a posh brandy after dinner.

About $35/40 for a tiny glass of Prosecco during a Broadway show.

RocketIceLollie · 11/06/2023 17:37

Probably in the restaurant up the shard. Can't remember the price but it was eye watering.

countvoncount · 11/06/2023 17:49

$52 for a mojito in Las Vegas
(I made it last)

Livinginaclock · 11/06/2023 17:52

Christ at these, I was shocked at a £9.50 margarita in a plastic cocktail cup in Camden recently, and the table was wobbly.

emmeline7725 · 11/06/2023 17:53

Paid $64 for two glasses of red wine at a Broadway theatre. Didn't tell my husband how much it was!

SinnerBoy · 11/06/2023 17:55

Blimey, I thought I was hard done by with a £23 600ml beer in Norway!

SabrinaThwaite · 11/06/2023 17:57

£20 for a large glass of white wine in a country house type hotel. I nearly fell off my bar stool. It wasn’t even anything special.

Should have gone for the pint of Moretti for £7.

Chowtime · 11/06/2023 17:57

$35 for a vodka and tonic at The Betsy in Miami

First rule of going out in Norway - don’t look at the bill.

Mintakan · 11/06/2023 17:59

15 Swiss francs for a bottle of water

SaveMeFromForearms · 11/06/2023 17:59

£14 for a pint in Dubai. Lucky I thought it was a shithole and have no intention of returning.

LorraineInSpain · 11/06/2023 18:02

Not the most expensive, but the biggest rip-off was €7 for a can of Fanta in Rome in about 2005.

FrenchandSaunders · 11/06/2023 18:03

OP was it Whispering Angel? I got stung in a pub with this when I ordered a rose …. was expecting the house or a Pinot blush but they gave us WA. Very nice but so expensive and cheeky of pub without asking.

Pyewhacket · 11/06/2023 18:03

I’m afraid I only stalk our local Wetherspoons. 😄

Qilin · 11/06/2023 18:03

Cocktails were £25 in The Ritz bar.
A glass of champagne was £24.

A male friend of Dh ordered a brandy which was over £70 a glass on one meal out.

Doggymummar · 11/06/2023 18:05

18.00 for gin and tonic at the Grand in Brighton and it's Beefeater and they tip away the rest of the tonic so you can't just get gin next time

cocksstrideintheevening · 11/06/2023 18:06

€10 for a small bottle of water at a beach club in Ibiza.

The alcohol was eye watering my expensive but water just seemed like a complete piss take.

That’s really cheeky.

$25 for a cocktail in America. It was too spicy and had too much chilli in it.

NisekoWhistler · 11/06/2023 18:09

It was £16.50
For a plastic cup full of Pimms at Chelsea Flower Show this year, I decided I wouldn't pay that much.

Peacepudding · 11/06/2023 18:11

$25 for a glass of champagne in NYC. That was over 10 years ago though so undoubtedly more expensive now!

£9.50 for a cocktail in London is very cheap. My most expensive was £18 for a cocktail at Sushi Samba.

Although my local London pub charges £7 a pint -_-

PartingGift · 11/06/2023 18:16

£17 for a cocktail in one of the bars in the shard building in London, was worth it for the views though tbf.
