What are you ‘I’m old’ references that younger folk might not understand ?
I’ll start: ‘too orangey for crows, it’s just for me and my dog’

Sindy or Barbie ? I was always Sindy, and would be totally made up if I got the ballerina for Xmas now ! (I’m 49)

Sindy, 1000%. My favourite one was a blonde tennis player with bunches (clearly modelled after Tracy Austin). I called her Angela.

Barbie has a weird small head.

(Yes, I know that Sindy's head was actually massively out of proportion.)

JRHartleysmum · 07/06/2023 16:52

TV moments that stick out:
Charles and Di wedding. I got bored and went out to play
Tommy Copper collapsing on stage, came on the news after that he’d died
Raising the Mary Rose on Blue Peter, also musical youth telling Simon groom that a dutchie was a cooking pot
The Berlin Wall coming down on breakfast news as I was getting ready for school. I was far more interested in whichever lad I was after that week

I also remember when the Pope visited in about 1982. I was in a Catholic school so we got to watch that on TV too.

I stand corrected.
Nick Ross "don't have nightmares".
Shaw Taylor "keep 'em peeled".

^^ Not sure what went wrong there with untidy link but the ad speaks for itself - "Antony people will always need plates".... "You've got an ology you're a scientist"

Come Saturday, I'll be on the other side (Nat West?)

Pasta, what's pasta (said pretty much every time I cook pasta, a Campbell's meatballs ad)

Loved happy days !

And in response to other posters , I had one of the ones with about 10 different colours - half of them didn't work though . I had Sindy doll .

Pawtucketbrew · 07/06/2023 18:21

Also don't think this one's been mentioned

" Went to a cocktail bar, in Leicester Square
Met a bloke, said he was a millionaire
had a drink, called calvier
Sounds a bit french, and it tastes of pear...
Etc etc

theblackradiator · 07/06/2023 18:26

paper rounds.
"Can I have 10p mum"
nowadays kids need atleast £2 to get anything decent from the corner shop. £1 was just about ok until this last year when prices have gone up massively.

theblackradiator · 07/06/2023 18:27

cheapo brand.
