What are you ‘I’m old’ references that younger folk might not understand ?
I’ll start: ‘too orangey for crows, it’s just for me and my dog’

What was the advert that used the song "Birds do it. Bees do it. Even educated fleas do it?"

Also wasn't there an ad that had a patient and possibly singing There may be trouble ahead?

LaMaG · 06/06/2023 19:05

A noodles ad where a guys bow tie started to spin??

When a man you don't know suddenly buys you flowers - Impulse body spray

Viking : we have come because we heard about the Harp! Harp beer

Agadoo doo doo - still play if for the kids

Inkypot · 06/06/2023 19:06

Everybody in the world loves Irn Bru,
I do, you do, they do, we do,
And I especially love Irn Bru,
Even though I used to be a man,
Even though I used to be a maaannn!

Ah they definitely couldn't show that ad anymore but it gets stuck in my head all the time and I can't exactly walk around singing it out loud!

BreakfastClubs · 06/06/2023 19:06

Also the incredibly loud Bodyform advert.

LorraineInSpain · 06/06/2023 19:07

Ooh, I could crush a grape!

And endless game shows with women clearly just there as decoration 😡

We Are the Champions- shame Stuart hall turned out to be a nonce.

Yeah, along with "clunk click every trip" Seatbelt ad with J Savile and
"Somehow I managed to scrabble me way to the bank", learn to swim and with Rolf Harris.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 06/06/2023 19:13

Sorry, the "he's not your dad" ad was Carte D'or, not Vienetta. I knew it was ice cream related!

InMySpareTime · 06/06/2023 19:13

"What about the vegetables?"
"Oh, they'll have what I'm having!"

Pri-or-iiiiiiii

BreakfastClubs · 06/06/2023 19:16

Does anyone remember these? They were everywhere in the early '90s. I called them telephone bugs.

Gen X where are you ????
Mochudubh · 06/06/2023 19:18

Does anyone brought up in the former Grampian TV area remember Scene on Saturday, presented by the norma weekday news presenters in T Shirts? I remember Kennedy Thompson and David Strachan (who later became a minister IIRC).

I also remember a Gaelic language kids programme that featured a very young Runrig and being amazed at seeing and hearing a Gaelic pop band.

muuummypig · 06/06/2023 19:19

You gotta... STOP! And think then you'll be.... king of the road!

Mochudubh · 06/06/2023 19:20

Normal, not Norma but who knows!

EmpressMoo · 06/06/2023 19:21

@Blankspace4 There is (or was, I haven't been since COVID) a huge "Um Bongo, Um Bongo, They drink it in the Congo" ad several stories high painted on the side of a building by the airport in Addis Ababa. I've always wondered how that worked as a slogan in 21st Century Ethiopia.

Stardustkid · 06/06/2023 19:22

What was the Yankee Doodle Heinz noodle ad, I loved that one.

Noodle doodle came to town riding on a pony….

It took me a long time to realise that Beattie (Maureen Lipman) in the BT ad was called that because of BT, I genuinely didn’t twig.

Summerhillsquare · 06/06/2023 19:23

Ooh ah could crush a grape
