I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

Anyone remember Lewis in Hollyoaks? He took an overdose in a suicide attempt, but changed his mind. But by then it was too late and the doctors couldn’t save him, so he just had to wait to die. I found that pretty traumatising!

And the young female police officer who is thrown from the window in Line of Duty.

LunaNorth · 04/06/2023 01:09

Mr and Mrs Hedgehog in The Animals of Farthing Wood.

They were holding hands trying to cross the road Sad

Mammamia2023 · 04/06/2023 01:15

Rachel - Cold Feet
Mike - Desperate Houswives
George, Lucy -ER
Billy - Ally McBeal
Maxine, Danny - Waterloo Road
Missy Booth - Ackley Bridge
Fenisha - Casualty
The final episode of Still Game gets me everytime 😭

Revoltingrhyme · 04/06/2023 01:19

Rayna’s death in Nashville. Sobbed for about 20 minutes

Laughingravy · 04/06/2023 01:22

Another vote for Christopher Eccleston as the police detective in Cracker

Ivyiris · 04/06/2023 01:25

Glenn , the walking dead 😭

Whyishewearingasombero · 04/06/2023 01:26

Redebs · 03/06/2023 21:38

The Christopher Eccleston character in Cracker

I detest the series, but that was moving

Still haven't forgotten Robert Carlyle for that!

Dublincailin · 04/06/2023 01:38

Danielle in Eastenders, Ronnie saying Baby.

Amy in Hollyoaks, Sarah's sister, Dawn, Kirk in Hollyoaks.

Loads in Hollyoaks.

Hollyoaks was of my era.

Dublincailin · 04/06/2023 01:44

Tiffany in Eastenders

MeinKraft · 04/06/2023 01:46

Nana in the Royle Family. I can't watch that episode at all.

MeinKraft · 04/06/2023 01:48

Oh and Shruti in This is Going to Hurt. Could not believe that.

MaryasBible · 04/06/2023 02:02

There’s some good ones here, I don’t think this is extensive but these are the immediate ones.

Leo McGary The West Wing
Rachel Cold Feet
Rayna James Nashville

AutisticLegoLover · 04/06/2023 02:27

Inspector George Gently
Inspector Morse
Dobby the house elf
Tommy Lee Royce

NotAnAngelOrAHero · 04/06/2023 02:44

George O'Malley, the 007 moment was so shockingly sad I sobbed my heart out.

Lexie Grey & Mark Sloan, the plane crash episode was so traumatic. Poor, poor Lexie. Then Mark! I just can't!

Derek Shepherd was also incredibly sad and I cried like a baby.

Also not a death, but might as well have been because Alex Karev is now dead to me. My heart broke for Jo. How could he!?

Greys is the biggest emotional rollercoaster. I don't know who hurt Shonda Rhimes but they must have got her really good to write some of the very very sad things she does.

NotAnAngelOrAHero · 04/06/2023 02:49

Also, the young police woman getting tan over multiple times by Tommy Lee Royce in the first series of happy valley. Just after Catherine had been a bit mean to her.

So stomach churningly sad!

BubblyBunchOfCoconuts · 04/06/2023 02:51

Thenewtrews · 03/06/2023 21:08

Mark green er
george O’Malley greys

Rewatching ER currently!
Both deaths made me cry like a baby!
Greg Pratt's was also heart breaking.

PatchworkDonkey · 04/06/2023 02:53

Paul Kaye's character (Kenny?) in 2000 Acres of Skye. I think because it was a tragic accident and he was such a happy person, there one minute gone the next. The way the others were so relieved and happy when they thought he'd been found, because they initially sort of skipped over the bit where it said a body had been found and then they slowly realised.

Alex Drake · 04/06/2023 03:07

Ashes to Ashes where's Gene's officers realise that they were dead and how they had died.

Still Game - when the characters just fade away on the walk up the hill 😭

Moro93 · 04/06/2023 03:22

Joyce and Tara in Buffy

All the deaths in Angel, but especially Fred! It was so devastating!

Keith in One Tree Hill. The aftermath of this was really well done.

George in Grey’s. I was never a massive fan of his character but his death was incredibly sad.

Freddie in Skins, I found the way he died very harrowing.

Glen and Carl in TWD.

I hated Marissa in The O.C. so didn’t find her death sad but I can see why others did.

Dean in Supernatural! I was depressed for days and kept crying!

Moro93 · 04/06/2023 03:23

Lola’s death in EE was also upsetting.

Moro93 · 04/06/2023 03:26

Oh and when Faith is stillborn in Outlander.

Dell in Private Practice…

FP1000 · 04/06/2023 04:16

DisplayPurposesOnly · 03/06/2023 21:24

Yes! This!

Cheguevarahamster · 04/06/2023 04:40

Adric Dr Who
Joyce Summers Buffy
Ryan Chappelle 24
Barbara CTMW

Thechameleonsshadow · 04/06/2023 04:40

Colin from It’s a Sin. Cried buckets.

Moro93 · 04/06/2023 06:04

Had to comment again to say the one that broke my heart more than any other and I’m not sure if anyone else will know?

It was a Casper the friendly ghost short where he makes friends with a little fox called Ferdie then he gets shot by hunters, it’s completely devastating and I couldn’t stop crying!
