Tv deaths that really got to you ***SPOILERS

I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

OP posts:

I love you too Clarky!

I'll see your Daphne and I will raise you Kerry, dying on that duck hunt sabotage, just tragic!!!

This is one of the earliest ones I remember, so sad 😥

Rayna in Nashville, that really upset me 😢

So well acted, I full on sobbed (I cry at loads of TV though so not unusual for me)

Gerwurtztraminer · 04/06/2023 00:08

Barry Frost in Rizzoli & Isles The actor had died in real life - suicide - and the funeral was heartwrenching. The cast's tears were real.

mackerella · 04/06/2023 00:10

Some of the most harrowing TV deaths for me have been in The Bridge - I still haven't got over the deaths of August in S1 and Pernilla in S2 😭

Catsmere · 04/06/2023 00:12

Oh god yes Mark!

Jo Morgan, Cathy Marshall and Andrew Monroe in The Bill.

I was going to say this!!!
Didn't he die in real life too?

Yes Dieter Brummer died a couple of years ago 😥

charabang · 04/06/2023 00:18

I came on to say Mollie from Country Practice but @Kiwano beat me to it. The way Mollie's husband ran towards her shouting her name when he sees her fading. Then the camera diminishes

lostat · 03/06/2023 22:01

I've got good news for you........Rita isn't dead.

@lostat I might have to start watching it again then! (Sorry Rita)

so many have died. I'm so old I remember it in black & white!!

1stWorldProblems · 04/06/2023 00:25

Michael Praed's Robin of Sherwood - still have trouble watching that episode & it took me ages to forgive Jason Connery for replacing him.

Wash in Firefly.

NotAMug · 04/06/2023 00:25

Finn in Glee, that episode was so devastating. I felt so bad for the cast, it must have been utterly draining

A Dogs Purpose- the saddest film ever, I cried at every death, it was traumatising TBH.

There are so many I have cried at but it gets me before it even happens as i know whats coming up in both Untamed Heart (starring Christian Slater and Marisa Tomei) and also A Star is Born when he puts the steak out for the dog.

The young policewoman in the first series of Happy Valley

That was really shocking :(

Shruti in This is going to hurt

Yes. That was so bloody tragic.

John Archer, he got squashed by a tractor, I was in bits. Poor Pat and Tony.

That was particularly traumatic (although I did manage to get a reference in a museum label once). I cried over most of the 1990s Archers deaths: Mark Hebdon, Mrs P, Walter Gabriel…

I have never got over Nigel P.

I've seen that scene lots of times and I cry every time.

It breaks me everytime

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 04/06/2023 00:33

I have never got over Nigel P.

Me neither. I was so angry at that storyline, and Nigel and Lizzie were the romantic icons of my teenage years.

Catsmere · 04/06/2023 00:44

PuttingDownRoots · 03/06/2023 21:23

The doctors brother in Scrubs.
Colonel Blake in MASH

Henry Blake was probably the first TV death that really hit me. I remember marking the Sea of Japan on my world map desk, I must have been about twelve.

Stressedafff · 04/06/2023 00:50

Danielle in Eastenders, I’ve never forgiven EE for that one!
The episode where nana dies in the Royle Family still makes me cry

greyhairnomore · 04/06/2023 00:56

muffinmclay22 · 03/06/2023 22:26

Richie in Its A Sin

Oh yes , when his mum told Jill - gave me goosebumps

slithytoveisascientist · 04/06/2023 00:59

Billy in ally mcbeal
