Tv deaths that really got to you ***SPOILERS

I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

Damon Grant

Came on to say this! Didn't expect it to be one of the first response lol!

I remember watching this back in the day before spoilers, clips in advance etc. It was the last few minutes just as I was expecting the credits to roll on a "happy ever after ending". I was in shock for weeks.

Watching Brookie repeats at the moment and I'm more of a Barry fan than Damon now.

Mark Green was heartbreaking.
I also sobbed when Sister Evangeline died in Call the Midwife.

I remember Mark Green as clear as day..heartbreaking! From recollection the scene played out with "Somewhere over the rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole 🥺

TortolaParadise · 03/06/2023 23:02

Danny Kendall in Grange Hill.
Missy in Ackley Bridge.

scoobycute · 03/06/2023 23:04

The little boy Bruno in The Boy In Striped Pyjamas...the cry from his mother gives me chills.

The baby in Trainspotting...really quite traumatising

A Star is Born..the ending when it pans to him playing the piano singing...GONE

I must have forgotten about this, what happens again? I have a vague memory of feeling sad but honestly can't remember

DancinOnTheCeiling · 03/06/2023 23:16

@NuckingFightmare and @HeidiWhole
Me too Poussey 😭😭😭 but also when the South American lady (can't remember what country) is left to die in the desert when she breaks her ankle 😭😭😭

DancinOnTheCeiling · 03/06/2023 23:17

A star is born - I was inconsolable

Prescottdanni123 · 03/06/2023 23:23

Any animal character

WhyDoesItAlways · 03/06/2023 23:24

Also, Jen in Dawson's creek.

Forget about this is us, Miguel, jack and even Rebecca (even though we know it's coming). Glad they didn't kill off uncle Nicky.

AliceMcK · 03/06/2023 23:24

My biggest sobbing moments have been Corry

Vera Duckworth, Jack Duckworth and Mike Baldwin. Also Aiden Conner, I hadn’t watched it in a long time but caught that story line.

Paul Hennessy from 8 simple rules, the fact John Ritter died just made me sob even more.

Glen TWD

Agree Ianto and most of the Torchwood team.

Dr Who, when it was time for David Tennants Dr to regenerate I sobbed my heart out.

Richard Pool Death in Paradise

Luckyme2 · 03/06/2023 23:25

Meg in home and away has stayed with me for over 30 years!

Prescottdanni123 · 03/06/2023 23:26

And also, Sarah Trevanion from Wild at Heart. Although Du Plessis death in the wild at heart finale was even worse. I cry every time I watch it.

SkaneTos · 03/06/2023 23:26

It has been mentioned before, but Sybil's death in "Downton Abbey".
So very sad.

Lapland123 · 03/06/2023 23:27

Mike in Desperate Housewives 😭😭😭

SemperIdem · 03/06/2023 23:31

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/06/2023 21:15

🙈🙈Shane in Home and Away🙈🙈

That’s the first tv death I actually remember!

Died on the beach?

Kiwano · 03/06/2023 23:34

Molly in A Country Practice. That ages me.

SkaneTos · 03/06/2023 23:37

Also, when Clarie McLeod died in that horrific car accident in "McLeod's Daughters". I had accidentally read about it beforehand online, so I knew that the character was going to die, but I didn't know how. It was almost traumatic to watch, and so very sad.
