Tv deaths that really got to you ***SPOILERS

I have just finished watching Sons of Anarchy and...

spoiler

Jax's death hit me harder than any tv death before! I think it was because there was so much meaning behind it and after watching multiple series you really feel like you know the characters (sign of a good show creator I guess)

Ned Stark is probably a close second, that was messed up.

What tv deaths have most upset you?

Jack in Titanic.
Sybil in Downtown.

Geoff from Byker Grove! Unforgivable.

SunshineAndFizz · 04/06/2023 07:27

Matthew from Downton Abbey

Ritchie from It's a Sin

Ned Stark from GOT

And who could forget Geoff from Biker Grove.

I love you too Clarky!

I'll see your Daphne and I will raise you Kerry, dying on that duck hunt sabotage, just tragic!!!

Kerry dying in that way was just really funny! Although poor Joe Mangel.

There was another girl with a terminal illness that died on Home and Away on the beach with Blake (I think). That also made me cry.

Please say someone remebers Sarah from hollyoaks? She died in hollyoaks later (please don’t judge my viewing standards) in a skydiving murder. It was utterly traumatising and brilliantly filmed. But no one I know seems to have any memory of it!

I remember it. I couldn’t stand the character so I was quite happy about it! Hadn’t someone sabotaged the equipment?

I can’t remember her name but there was this awful bully of a girl on Hollyoaks that was killed by a piece of shrapnel landing on her (I think it was part of a plane or something like that), I cheered when that happened.

Megan??

Baywatch in late 80s - the first version before it was all boobs. Jill was attacked by a shark ON MY BIRTHDAY

Megan??

Yes, that’s the one. I’ve just rtft and seen she’s been mentioned a few times. It was just so sad as she’d got everything to live for.

There was another girl from the early days on H&A that didn’t die but it’s always stuck with me. She was Steven’s girlfriend and lived with in an abusive family. Just when you thought she would escape it, they just left. She was looking back out of the car window and that was the last we saw of her. I’ve always wondered how she went on.

WomanOfSteel · 04/06/2023 08:30

I was nearly sick with Lisa Faulkner’s character with the deep fat fryer in Spooks. I was not expecting that to happen.

notprincehamlet · 04/06/2023 08:34

Adriana in The Soprano’s
O yes! Poor Adriana.

ohfook · 04/06/2023 08:38

I love sons of anarchy. In my opinion it's one of the cleverest shows ever written and the acting is amazing. It really immerses you in their world. But I thought the shitty cgi really ruined Jax's death. It could have been the best ending to a show and instead it was just a bit crap. Juice, Tara and Opie all were given truly emotional endings and it's like they just ran out of budget for Jax's.

As an aside I really wanted chibs and jarry to stay together. I thought that would've made an amazing spin-off. Much better than the mayans.

Was her Dad a vicar or something? I was such a fan in the early days, bought the annuals and calendars etc

Derrymum123 · 04/06/2023 09:11

Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders. Only because it was written in for the real actress passing. When the caravan was on fire I cried so many tears.

Bobby Simone - NYPD Blue

That was sad but Andy Jnr’s death was even worse 😢

AutisticLegoLover · 04/06/2023 10:12

@NotAnAngelOrAHero that's why I could never rewatch HV. That poor policewoman. I'm still quite traumatised by it. HV remains probably the best thing I've ever watched but I couldn't rewatch.

Knowivedonewrong · 04/06/2023 10:47

Robb Stark GOT even worse is what they did to him afterwards. Parading his body with his dire wolf's head on his shoulders. The dirty bastards!

XelaM · 04/06/2023 12:55

Santino Corleone in Godfather I. No TV death has ever even come close to Sonny's death 😭I wanted to stop watching when he was killed, but obviously it's a good thing I didn't, as it's still the best film of all time. But still why did they kill Sonny 😭😭😭

Outofthepark · 04/06/2023 13:29

Oh God, definitely all of the Blackadder characters when they went over the top. Nothing ever got to me like that scene...

I’ve just been hunting around and found her. She was called Sandra Barlow and her dad was the manager of a road gang who gets demoted and then ends up shooting his wife and she has to go into care. I couldn’t remember the whole thing as I was 8, but it’s stuck with me for all of these years. Strange what a child’s brain remembers.

Mr and Mrs Hedgehog in The Animals of Farthing Wood.

They were holding hands trying to cross the road Sad

Oh yes, they were so sweet and loving, right up to the last moment 😭😭😭
