I've been told I don't - however I don't care .....

Do dress your age!??

Tittyfilarious81 · 03/06/2023 15:51

Nah , I dress how I want 😁

BIWI · 03/06/2023 15:52

I don't even know what it means

Rowgtfc72 · 03/06/2023 15:52

Nope. I'm sat in a bright orange space hopper tshirt. I'm 51.
I really don't care either.🙂

Clothes don't have an age limit! I wear what I want.

ThePorchSwingCrowd · 03/06/2023 15:53

I wear things I like.

We can’t tell how old you are as your face is blurred 🤷🏻‍♀️

GreyCarpet · 03/06/2023 15:53

Yes.

I'm currently wearing a black, blue and purple tie dye dress with flecks of white fabric paint designed to look like stars (my universe dress) and 14 hole DMs.

I'm 48 and I must be dressing my age because I'm wearing it!

Maireas · 03/06/2023 15:56

No such thing.
A vest and jeans are fairly neutral anyway.
Go for it.

GalileoHumpkins · 03/06/2023 15:59

That's a pretty bog standard outfit for any age though. Only children's clothes labels have ages written on them.

CallMeTomorrow · 03/06/2023 16:02

People tell you that you don’t dress your age in jeans and a vest? Confused

Are space hoppers not peak 50 year olds? Wouldn't expect anyone younger to know what they were.

CamsPaisleyCuffs · 03/06/2023 16:05

48 and currently in tiny black bikini on a sun lounger, but I'll be damned if I'm wearing a sweat inducing one piece to save anyone's blushes.

IWantToVote · 03/06/2023 16:08

What age are you OP? If you come back and tell us you are 93 then I might be a bit surprised but I'm guessing you are younger than that. I suspect you are older than your 20s though as you outfit would be more unusual on someone in their twenties than someone in their 40s for example.

If you are an accountant in surrey then your outfit might stand out a bit more than if you are a tattoo artist in Cornwall.

I'm in my late 50's and have rainbow hair (just died so very bright) and I wear colourful clothes. It's not an unusual look tbh.

illiterato · 03/06/2023 16:08

83, so you’re 40? I’d say what you’re wearing is pretty 40ish tbh. I’d wear it at closer to 50 and not consider myself in any way an edge lord.

IncompleteSenten · 03/06/2023 16:08

What you're wearing looks fine.
In what way is jeans and a t-shirt wrong at any age?

JustToBeMe · 03/06/2023 16:10

Im 57 in a couple of months, I do wonder once in a blue moon, if not several blue moons, if I dress for my age, ie generally skinny jeans, t-shirt, hoodie/sweatshirt, trainers, mostly black, it's my comfort zone...
However im going on my first holiday abroad In almost 31 years, to visit relatives, I've just brought myself a white denim jacket..
Which is definitely out my comfort zone, but I like it, so im wearing It, although it needs a few washes to loose that 'newness', its comfortable.

And tbh I've never really given a toss what people think, each to their own an all that Grin

BogRollBOGOF · 03/06/2023 16:14

No, sometimes I wear age 12-13-14. Sometimes I wear European 34s.

More seriously, I wear what I like. I've not really sussed "dressing my age" and am in that awkward phase of not wanting to wear teenage clothes, nor "classic" styles pitched at more mature women. I dislike a lot of current fashion.
Although if fashion moved from 1992 to 1994 and silk shirts, coloured jeans, full length skirts and waist coats, I'd be all for reliving my youth.

CatMattress · 03/06/2023 16:14

No idea how old you are, but you looking fucking awesome in that outfit. According to other people's guesses we're about the same age and I'd look far frumpier in the same clothes, so you're obviously being it right for you. Just keep doing that and ignore the "shoulds" from others

GreyCarpet · 03/06/2023 16:19

What's to stop you from doing that anyway?

Fashion?

Fuck that! 😉

I don't either. I wear what I want.

Hummusanddipdip · 03/06/2023 16:25

Either my mum dresses young or I dress old... or the actual truth is that age isn't a thing when it comes to clothes.
She's 52 and I'm 32, we went out yesterday with ds, she was wearing skinny jeans, trainers and a teeshirt with a hoody, I was similarly dressed in jeans (all be it straight leg rather than skinny) trainers, teeshirt and hoodie too.

In fact even ds (3) was in jeans, trainers and a teeshirt with a hoodie 🤣 so maybe my mum and I dress like toddler boys 🤣

gogohmm · 03/06/2023 16:26

Who cares what you wear (as long as it's appropriate for location/occasion)! I'm wearing a low cut short sundress and don't care what my mother would say

honeylulu · 03/06/2023 16:29

No! I'm 49 and dress like I'm off to a festival! Apparently middle aged women/ school mums should wear loose cotton midi dresses or baggy dungarees with ubiquitous white trainers. No thanks!!!

Vitriolinsanity · 03/06/2023 16:32

Dunno, I wear whatever I want and fits.

We do have the same stair carpet though.

InSpainTheRain · 03/06/2023 16:32

Probably not. But I don't really know how a fifty something woman "should" dress or who would decide. I wear whata comfortable and appropriate for what I am doing.

Freeballing · 03/06/2023 16:35

I dont really know what you mean either tbh. Your photo does make things confusing because it's just a vest top and jeans? My dd is in her teens and has gone out this afternoon in lycra shorts and a crop top type thing and having observed other teens in this heatwave i would say that is the current uniform of young uns around here, I wouldn't wear that if that's what you mean, so maybe I do 'dress my age'?
