How old are you?

I can’t see much wrong with what you are wearing

Maireas · 03/06/2023 18:26

What did your mother wear round the house though?

GrapefruitGin · 03/06/2023 18:26

I don’t know, how are 33 year olds supposed to dress?!

I'm 46 and because I'm overweight I don't dress how I like but more to disguise or flatter my shape.
If I was slim like you OP I would dress exactly as I wanted.

DustyLee123 · 03/06/2023 18:37

I dress like I’m still in the 80’s !

wwyd83 · 03/06/2023 20:57

@Maireas

What I said ... She didn't really do 'casual' wear.

Iyiyiiii · 03/06/2023 20:59

No idea how old you are, my guess is 40?

So that's what she wore doing cooking and cleaning?

wwyd83 · 03/06/2023 21:00

@Iyiyiiii

Almost 48.

You can't see their face!

Maireas · 03/06/2023 21:01

Plenty of 48 year olds wear vest tops and jeans. You're not your mother!

bloodywhitecat · 03/06/2023 21:09

I'm 12 years older than you and still dress in jeans and vest tops/tee shirts.

My mother thinks I am mutton dressed as lamb, she was all Richard Shops by her 40s but I am buggered if I am going to start wearing polyester just because I am the wrong side of 50. I foster very young children and often find myself playing on the floor or climbing up a slide with a little person so jeans and tee shirt fit the bill for me.

AuntieStella · 03/06/2023 21:12

I think that ageism is limiting, and that the industry that wants to sell us more clothes is pretty despicable in trying to perpetrate the idea that clothes need to be changed because of your age (ie buy more)

Maireas · 03/06/2023 21:12

Good for you, @bloodywhitecat ! My sister is dressing like that and she's 70. Looks great!

Iyiyiiii · 03/06/2023 21:19

Maireas · 03/06/2023 21:00

You can't see their face!

And?

Maireas · 03/06/2023 21:22

Iyiyiiii · 03/06/2023 21:19

And?

I would normally be able to judge age better by looking at a person's face. Not their outfit.

ltappleby · 03/06/2023 21:34

I wear the sort of clothes you’re wearing and I’m 64. Nobody’s ever commented and I don’t give it a second thought.

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/06/2023 21:45

I don’t suppose I do either. I don’t think about it, or care. I dont get your point though looking at the photo - you are in jeans and a vest top - can’t get more timeless really?

LadyJ2023 · 03/06/2023 21:49

Huh I'm nearly 40 and I don't care jeans and t-shirt all the way oh and glad to find another charity shop lady 😃

AdoraBell · 03/06/2023 21:52

I’m 55 and I wear what I like.

scrivette · 03/06/2023 21:59

I like that you did the rips yourself, how did you do them? Great idea to try with charity shop jeans, I might try that.

I probably dress younger than my age as I still love a very short dress!

MyFaceIsAnAONB · 03/06/2023 22:01

Jeans and a vest is hardly what younguns are wearing these days 😄 I don’t really know what dress your age means, seems to me like anything goes!

SammyScrounge · 03/06/2023 22:07

I am 70 and have reverted to wide legged trousers. I feel great in them and bought another two pairs today.

Passmethecrisps · 03/06/2023 22:13

I think you look great but it’s not relating to your age. The fact you are slim with tattoos gives a certain vibe which is less about youth and more about an attitude.

I am a bit younger than you and dress in the apparently ubiquitous frock, denim jacket and trainers so I suppose I “dress my age” according to what popular press and social media tell us.

you look comfortable in your skin. That’s what comes over from your picture rather than an age

I was guessing on the username "wwyd83" not the photo
